Angel of Death by Andrew Toth is a novel that stirs intense emotions in a reader. Antonio Jennato (Jennings) makes it a duty to equip his beloved daughter, Maria, with an inheritance. It’s a whole lot of money that he has made over the years, as well as the brains and bravery to weather life-threatening situations in order to protect herself. But he does not teach her how to walk over dead bodies. Having bloodstains in one's hands is not Antonio's specialty. However, while in jail, Jacob Bonsuvius Cody (Bonny), a criminal he meets in prison, takes an interest in Maria's inheritance. Maria is the bait, and her inheritance is the prize. But does he get his hands on it? Andrew Toth's book is a ride to curiosity, and one needs to brace himself as this ride takes him through the roads of humanity, crime, survival, and love.

The positive aspects of Toth's book are many. Taking the lead in the list is the fact that the plot is divided into five parts (Prologue, Book One, Book Two, Book Three, Book Four, and Epilogue), which make the book enjoyable to read, alongside the exciting storyline. Each aspect brings about new dimensions to the story, as well as clarity and an understanding of events that are admirably achieved.

As we go on, it is easier to get used to each character as the author has endowed each one with a substantial degree of use so that no one is easy to forget or mistaken for the other, be it the main character or a minor character. All are dynamic and distinct in their rights. The conversations that the characters engage in are captivating and give rise to another good quality of the book, which is suspense.

Suspense, a vital element of writing, is used impressively by the writer. I didn't feel the need to stop reading, and I was curious to know what the next event would bring about, as the previous events were captivating. There was a free flow of genuine interest and motivation to read this book, and this stirred many emotions in me.

There are some negative aspects to this book, though. There are instances where names are misspelled or misrepresented. Also, a few spelling, punctuation, and omission errors were found in this book, so it wasn’t professionally edited. Therefore, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. Finally, I recommend Angel of Death to lovers of crime novels and crime case practitioners at different levels.
