Kelly Turbulo, Tom Turbulo's bride, discovers a suspicious scheme in Honduras, and their honeymoon turns into a terrorist-hunting mission.

Kelly Turbulo and her husband, sergeant Tom Turbulo of the Carson City police department, are on their honeymoon on a resort island off the coast of Honduras when Kelly discovers a suspicious activity going on behind closed doors at a small gift shop during her tour of the island. Out of panic, she seeks help from her brother, Senator Mike McBride, who sends two of his best security guards to her and Tom to keep an eye on them while they enjoy their honeymoon. Meanwhile, following Kelly's discovery at the gift shop, a man starts tailing Kelly and Tom, tracking their every move and activity. Who is this man? What plan does he have for Kelly and Tom? Is this strange activity at the gift shop a terrorist plot? What will Kelly and Tom do about the suspicious activity at the gift shop? Will they investigate it? If they decide to investigate it, how will they go about the investigation? What will be the outcome of their investigation? And what challenges will they encounter during the investigation?

E M P Honeymoon is one of the McBride series, written by Dorothy May Mercer. Those of us that have read Cynthia and Dan (also written by Dorothy), I am sure you will be pleased to know that some of our favourite stars in the novel are again featured in this book. I am glad I read this book because it gave me the opportunity to read more about Cynthia and Sky, even though their parts were few in the story. The cooperation between the US team in Honduras during their investigation into the suspicious activity at the gift shop was spectacular. What I admire most about the USA team is that, despite being on a dangerous mission, they always humour themselves, whether by singing or bantering.

I like Sharon's stubborn yet caring attitude. Although Kelly acted carelessly at the gift shop at the beginning of the story, her bravery afterwards surprised me. I expected her to make a run for it and leave the Caribbean island, but she amazed me by sticking around with others to find out the truth about the suspicious activity in the gift shop. Even her ability to think clearly when she was being chased at the beginning of the story amazed me. She is indeed a smart and brave character.

Although the story is full of suspense, the part that really got me so anxious and filled me with so much anticipation was Kim Jung Lo's escape part of the story. But besides Kim's survival plans for his journey after his escape from the mountain, I would have loved it if the author had also written about the unexpected challenges he encountered during this journey. He will definitely encounter some unexpected challenges during the journey, no doubt about it. Nonetheless, I learned a lot from his escape preparations, things I would not have imagined, even in my wildest imagination. I hoped to read more of Peter Kinney's scenes in this story. But unfortunately, the author did not develop this character further after his interview with Henry Haven-Harbinger. In any case, all the aforementioned drawbacks in the story take nothing away from the fact that I enjoyed the story. There was not a single dull moment while I was reading this novel. I noted just a few errors in the novel. Hence, I will rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

I will recommend this book to people that love reading science fiction. I will also recommend it to people that love reading thriller novels.
