Demon Freaks is just exactly what it is, Demon freaks. A mind blowing book by J.R.R.R (Jim) Hardison that stretches the very fabric of reality and imagination, bringing to life the very essence of fantasy and interweaving it with mystery.

It started with a band of friends; Meat, Kaitlyn, and the Slaughter twins — Ron and Bing — trying to study for the upcoming SATs exam the next morning while practicing for their band music. Then their history teacher, Brom, crashed their halfhearted effort when he tried to kill the friends with a demonic dagger in Meat's cabin on that stormy night. Meat, Ron, and Bing barely disarmed their teacher and Meat picked up the dagger. All hell broke loose. A horde of glowing eyed and robed men attacked the cabin, the dagger possessed Meat and he drove off leaving the Slaughter brothers to fend for themselves. Kaitlyn came crashing and they pursued Meat while being chased by demonic looking men. They found Meat, but Kaitlyn and Meat got kidnapped by a club of old golfers and the twins had to save their friends alone. Thus, they enter a whole new world where they have to rethink everything they believe, fight for their lives, swallow the biggest surprise of their lives, save their friends and the world, while worrying about their SAT exams in the morning.

This is one magnificent work of art, the intricate concord among the plot, twist, suspense, and fantasy is nothing short of fantastic. Reading the novel, it was as though I had been teleported into the background and watched everything unfold. The characters and the realism of it all, it felt as though the events told in the book is an everyday occurrence. Oh! The suspense, the surprises. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, Hardison proves me wrong — the try and fails, Demon Freaks is an excellent work of art.

I found no error in they book whatsoever, the text was carefully edited and the story absolutely refined. Although it does have a mild case of profanity, its spirituality and opinion on the existence of God might be upsetting to religious readers. It also has a mild case of sexuality where the author described sexual parts of the body, but nothing erotica.

My rating is nothing short of four out of four, and I would say this book is for lovers of mystery, fast paced adventure, fantasy and young adults. Generally, it is a well told tale
