Review of Master of Madhouse
The Master of Madhouse by Cheryl R. Cowtan is the second book in The Fergus She Series. The book begins with Rachel trying to find Scarlett and wondering if Scarlett has saved the Highlander, Angus. Angus was Rachel's lover, and Rachel was genuinely worried about him. When she finally gets a hold of Scarlett, Scarlett tells her that she must convince Angus to let Scarlett help him in order to be free. Angus refuses to help Scarlett help him despite Rachel's argument that she can ensure that no daughters are born so that the curse will be broken. What is this curse? Who is Scarlett? Will Rachel be free from Scarlett? Find out in this pulsating fiction novel.
When I started reading this book, I was confused up to a reasonable part of it. Perhaps, I could attribute my confusion to the fact that I had not read the first book in the series, but the author did say that the book could be read as a standalone. I found it difficult to understand who Scarlett was fully, and this made reading the text difficult at the beginning. However, this was the only negative aspect I found in this book.
I found a lot of positive aspects however. Weirdly, I got to understand how our subconscious can take control of our actions. I understood from Rachel and Scarlett's relationship that a good state of mind helps us maintain control of our actions and our minds. The book contained a lot of themes. There was the theme of sacrifice and love. Angus was willing to give up his life in order to break the curse. This displayed an encourageable trait of selflessness. I also got a glimpse of the theme of abuse in the relationship between Lene, Rachel's friend, and her boyfriend. I liked how the author told the story, leaving us with room to put the events together in certain instances. This helped to keep me invested and kept my mind at work.
The book takes a slight turn into a story similar to that of Beauty and the Beast, except this version had specific changes and surprises. While reading this book, my perception of the characters changed at different times, and I learned a great lesson of not judging people without fully knowing them. I rate this book three out of four stars because the storyline was confusing for me at first. I didn't give the book a lower rating because the plot was terrific and kept me captivated throughout. I found a few errors in this book. However, it was professionally edited.
I recommend this book to lovers of books associated with supernatural and demonic possessions. This book will leave a reader wanting more, and I would certainly pick up the next book in the series, if there is to be one.

Exactly. Nice observations.Stipe Busines wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 17:09 I am agree. It indeed associated with demon possession isn't one i'd love to read, but readers interested in dark fiction will inspired. I am not a pretty interested fan of this type of books, but it's perfect.
