Review of FEAR ME NOW: The War Annex
Anger develops into a rage, and if this rage is not controlled, it can become a disaster. FEAR ME NOW: The War Annex by Christopher William is a book that paints a picture of how a black man's life changed because of the frustration he faced from the whites. This frustration developed into anger, which turned into rage. This is a book of 16 chapters and 185 pages that tells the story of Crenshaw Dimes.
Crenshaw Dimes is a 21-year-old student who had to work extra to make ends meet since his mother, who was assisting him had just lost her job. He also had a problem in his relationship with his girlfriend, who lived far away. In the quest for solutions, Crenshaw came across a group that brainwashed him into seeing the white man as the cause of the problem in the black community. Crenshaw, however, misunderstood the solution posed by this group and even lost his job in the process. Crenshaw's frustration increased, and he ventured into a whole new mission to save the black community. He was nearly killed, and this made him lie low for a while, but after he was denied a promotion in the office where he worked, he went back to his old mission, but this time he had bigger plans. Get a copy of this book to see the mission Crenshaw Dimes had in mind and how he executed this mission.
This is a very nice book, and the author made it easy to read and very enjoyable. The author just described the everyday black man. The quest to find peace of mind and justice. I liked the way he used his words. it was easy to picture the images in my head, and this made it more interesting. The book is a combination of comedy, adventure, a bit of suspense, and action. It was like I was in a blockbuster movie. Apart from the whole action and suspense, this book made me aware of some things the black community face today. I hope this book is made into a movie someday.
I personally don't see anything wrong with the plot of this book. It was enjoyable to read, and the plot was very smooth and easy-going. Even though the main character was a brainwashed young man who took the wrong route to finding a solution, he, however, was fighting for the right cause.
I am rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I found a few errors while I was reading this book, which shows it was professionally edited. Furthermore, I would really love to see what happens now that Crenshaw has met a group with similar goals as his. I recommend this book to teens and young adults who love reading books on racism and racial oppression.
