Review of Demon Freaks
Demon Freaks by J.R.R.R. (JIM) Hardison is a fantasy novel that blends the emotions of sheer teenage passion with the conflict between good and evil in a mysterious, revealing setting. It begins at the scene of a history classroom, where two identical twins Bing and Ron Slaughter are reminded by their scary history teacher "Spit-Flecked Brommy" about their SAT the next morning along with the rest of the class. But unknowing to them that the night leading to their SAT would test their knowledge about everything they thought or knew existed before then, as well as reinvent their perception of life. This mysterious journey begins at a cabin house, owned by the parents of their friend, Meat's introducing the twins, Meat and Kaitlyn, the keyboard player of their band to supernatural occurrences they never knew existed in their town. A host of events follow that night which absorbs all four teenagers into the fight against evil forces while they wrestle against life-changing decisions in their lives.
The author has a nice play with words, even the simplest thing such as opening the case of one's glasses he makes mysterious. Some of the expressions and descriptions can be found funny, with the right blend of humour amid fear and anxiety. The book is great, I found no grammatical errors on all 249 pages. The author duly utilized action, mystery, comedy, and art to relate his message beautifully. Expertly divided into twenty-two chapters with all chapters connecting sweetly, moving back and forth from one scene to another even within chapters. But this switch in scenes is never confusing. One can easily understand the switch of scenes and continue seamlessly with the story. The easy flow of the story, the captivating twists of the plots, and the infusion of artistry, music, action, and comedy makes for a good read and encourages one to read till the end. It is like a movie in which you cannot bear to take your eyes off for a second for fear of disconnection from the plot. It even presents an intriguing conclusion.
This book is so good that there is nothing I do not like about it. It is professionally edited, well sectioned, and has a good blend of humour, action, art, mystery, and triumph. I do not mind reading it all over again.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book is professionally edited, as I found no grammatical errors. Demon Freaks by J.R.R.R. (Jim) Hardison is well sectioned into twenty-two chapters. Each chapter has a title that depicts the entire theme, but more importantly, each chapter links beautifully with the next, making for a good, uninterrupted read.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good storyline, mixed with humour, action, art, mystery, and teenage zeal. It will suit a reader who likes fantasy, action, and mystic fiction. It might however be unsuitable for people who like to read a book with a simple story with not many plot twists.
