Without Redemption is a book by David Griffith. This is where the author reveals the dangers of being an addict and how drugs bring nothing but pain and suffering in one’s life. In this book, the author begins by introducing the readers to a man called Lonnie Bowers who is an intelligence specialist and who, as time goes by, gets involved in a horse-riding accident.

This causes a huge problem for Bowers because he now realises that he cannot chase drug lords with his broken arm therefore, he will not be able to provide for his family’s needs. His boss Frederick tries to take off the weight off Bowers’ shoulders by offering him a trip to Costa Rica with all the expenses paid for. That is when his problems continue to escalate. Bowers finds himself having to run away from drug lords in the forest, leaving the reader with an interest of whether Bowers and his family will survive.

What I liked about this book was that the author was able to bring out different themes in the book. We saw that as much as the protagonist loved his job, he was also able to give time and love to his family. I also admired how the author portrayed the theme of drug abuse and showed that drugs do not always win. I also liked the fact that the author was able to write his book in an interesting way and kept the reader glued to the book. The author was also able to write in a way that made the reader feel like he or she was in the story. The book was well organized, it had meaning, and all the events were easy to follow as well as the storyline, which was very interesting. I also liked the fact that the author included Spanish words here and there in order to add more spice and what really interested me was that these words were easy to understand.

There is nothing that I disliked about the book. The writing style was conversational and there was no part where I felt like the author could have improved, everything was spot on. The book was also exceptionally edited, as I did not find any grammatical errors while reading it.

Therefore, I would like to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I highly recommend it to people who like to read stories that are about drugs and gangsters because I believe that they will certainly enjoy the book as much as I did.
