Without Redemption by David Griffith is a story about Lonnie Bowers, who is far from being an ordinary Texas cowboy. After his horse-racing career is derailed by a serious hand injury during a rodeo, his boss shows up at his home with a mysterious offer for him. Although Lonnie is assured the upcoming mission is a simple job that will also give him a chance to take his family on a long-overdue vacation, he has been in the game long enough to know better. However, his wife does not know that, and she is not about to let him blow a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the family to have a vacation in Costa Rica. Nevertheless, as soon as the vacation begins, Lonnie quickly finds out he is in for more than he bargained for after crossing paths with a vengeful member of a dangerous and powerful drug cartel. The dangerous criminal is highly motivated to kill Lonnie and his family.

One thing I loved about the novel is that the suspense and the drama are sustained throughout the book. You will honestly have a hard time putting Without Redemption down once you start reading it. Lonnie's story is both thrilling and compelling, and you can't help but hope that things go his way. The narrative has a straightforward plot, which is why you should follow the story without much effort.

In general, the book does not have a lot of negative aspects. Sure, Lonnie’s wife Clarissa has a mildly annoying personality, but that only adds to the richness of the story and helps put Lonnie's desperate plight into perspective.

I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. The novel is professionally edited, and the story is told in a simple and yet compelling style. You can’t help rooting for Lonnie, who is the obvious underdog in the deadly game he has been reluctantly forced to be part of.

Basically, if you are looking for a riveting thriller, then I highly recommend that you read this book. The fast-paced action will keep the tension mounting with every line you read until the very end of the novel. Lonnie is in a fight for his life, and the situation is made worse by the fact that his family is also a target in the cartel's deadly mission to eliminate him. There is no doubt that David Griffith is a master at weaving words into riveting drama and action, which makes Without Redemption one of the most interesting thrillers you will ever read.
