Faults by Orion Gregory follows professional Tennis Sydney Livingstone as she participates in the Mainspring Mutual Open (MMO) in Silverhill, Ohio. Sydney is not a household name, and this tournament is her ticket to the US Opens. She suffers from an injury that will end her career very soon, so she does not have much time left to make a name for herself in tennis.

Sydney's boyfriend Enzo, her mother, her double partner Anja and her childhood friend Nicole are there to support her. But things aren't as good as they seem because Sydney soon discovers that there is a violent stalker who is threatening her life but also the life of the people around her. In an attempt to catch the culprit, Sydney will not only have to confront ghosts from her past, but question her trust in the people closest to her…

Orion Gregory gives an insight into the world of professional tennis in a way that is accessible and interesting even to people who are not knowledgeable about the topic. I don't care much for Tennis, but this book managed to hook me on the subject.

The mystery surrounding the identity of Sydney's stalker is very well crafted as well. Everybody seemed suspicious, and I had a lot of fun finding all the hints towards the culprit's identity and putting them together.
I was surprised after the reveal of the stalker's identity, as I hadn't suspected this person before.

The only negative point I could find is the large amount of characters the reader is supposed to memorize. Especially in the later parts of the book, it becomes tricky to remember who everyone is, how they are related, and what they have done in the story so far.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I was not only interested in the mystery surrounding the stalker, but was also rooting for Sydney's success in the tournament. The book contains some minor errors that do not disrupt the flow of the story. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to people interested in mystery, crime and thriller novels. It is accessible to both experienced readers of the genre and new readers of the genre. The book is better suited for a more mature audience, as it discusses dark topics such as suicide and murder.

I also think that people with any sensitivity surrounding suicide should consider not reading this novel.
