Dorothy May Mercer's E M P Honeymoon is a fast-paced crime thriller. It centers on terrorism and other themes like service to the country, kindness, good human relationships, and others, which are shown through the characters of Dear Leader (DL) and an impromptu team comprised of the newlyweds, Kelly and Tom. Agent Steve, and the McBride security agents, Sharon and Agatha.

In a state of panic, Kelly calls her brother to relay what she has mistakenly stumbled upon during a tour. Her brother sends in McBride's security to keep an eye on her and help with the investigation. Through the actions of their agent, Steve, the CIA looks to be interested in the case. Working separately at first, they discover something beyond their imaginations. Will they drop their differences and work together for the common good? On the other side of the sea, the plot thickens. What do DL and his cronies have up their sleeve? Will there be a power change? Will they succeed in executing their plans? Read on to find out.

Although this story is part of the McBride series, it can be read as a standalone. I liked the third-person perspective used in telling this story. It helped us see things that even the characters didn't see. I also enjoyed how the story moved from one character to another. It is fast-paced but not confusing. The plot twists embedded in the book held my attention till I had finished reading. The plot itself was very beautiful, especially for me, probably because I enjoy space adventures. The character development was nice. I loved how the author introduced the characters. This in turn added depth to the story, which I loved. The grammar was made simple, too. A commendable feat.

There was nothing to dislike in the book. It was well written. The author did a good job on the research. The book turned out to be informative. Although I would have appreciated it more if Kelly and Tom had flashbacks and a little more romance during the story. This could have helped to keep the readers more entertained. There were a few minor errors present, but they did not interfere with my reading process.

E M P Honeymoon receives four out of four stars from me. The book was professionally edited. The author did a good job in the research, plot, and other areas. I recommend it for those interested in crime thrillers and space adventures.
