What suspense! What a thriller! This is a story that is literally off the beaten track. Without Redemption takes the reader on an adventure of a lifetime. This story of a family made up of a couple and their baby boy trying to escape a band of sicarios from a dreaded drug cartel will leave you gasping for breath. Lonnie Bowers, together with his wife Clarissa and six-month old son Conor, spend most of what was to have been a seaside holiday eluding a gang of drug hit-men in a remote jungle in Costa Rica. This is the third book in the Border Series by David Griffith, and it is sure to send a lot of readers scurrying to the bookstore looking to obtain the other books in the series.

This thrilling novel contains much more adventure and excitement within its covers than one could reasonably expect from a book of its size. Thrown off a bucking horse in the arena whilst pursuing his dream of making it into the National Finals in Las Vegas, Lonnie suffers a broken arm and is hospitalized as a result. However, rest and recuperation are very short-lived for our hero, following a visit from his former employer whilst in hospital. The visit, as it turns out, is a precursor to a whirlwind adventure which will take the reader through some of the most treacherous jungles in South America. What was to have been a straightforward meeting between Lonnie and a drug lord who heads the Sinaloa cartel is rudely interrupted by a rival gang, which seeks to eliminate its competitors and become the foremost player in the drug world. They do not quite succeed in this mission, and it results in the Sinaloa gang throwing in all their resources into attempting to capture and eliminate Lonnie, who they suspect of setting them up. In the process, the lives of his family are also at risk. You will be kept in suspense right throughout the pursuit, right up to the end of the tale.

There is nothing negative to be mentioned about the book.

The novel seems to have been professionally edited, with only a few errors. Therefore, I give this 4 out of 4 stars.

It can be recommended as an interesting read for anyone who is turned on by adventure stories, this being second to none. It is also a book that gives an insight into the world of drugs, run by cartels, and how the hierarchy of such gangs is made up.
