Spirit Women by Rolando Garcia is a thrilling collection of supernatural tales that will leave you reeling in the wake of its magnetic appeal.

As you read each story, you are drawn more and more to the author’s captivating writing style. Even though it is a collection of short stories, I did not once feel like I was being short-changed with an individual character or plot. Each story was full-bodied and had enough twists to keep me completely interested throughout. Even though the stories are short, this book is definitely not a light read. The stories are complex and well thought out.

What I most enjoyed was, in fact, the length of the stories. I could easily get invested in the characters and their stories and managed to feel satisfied after each tale. Garcia has truly mastered the art of feminine psychological warfare. Then there was also the occasional placement of pictures amongst which my favorite would be the painting under the bridge in “The Ghost of Museum Bridge”. Its vivid colors and the very idea of this beautiful piece of art being presented to the crowds every time the draw bridge is lifted was sheer brilliance.

There was simply nothing I disliked about this book. It was exceptionally well edited and contained very little profanity. The sexual content was also kept to a very tasteful minimum. With this in mind, I would recommend this book only be read by mature teenagers and older individuals.

Some possible triggers that I feel are worth mentioning are the themes of violence, murder, morbidity, supernatural elements, and addiction.

I would not recommend this book to anyone not willing to embrace the supernatural element, as it is prevalent in almost all of the tales. I would also not recommend it if you don’t enjoy a relatively great deal of melancholy. However, if you enjoy reading about the various interactions between men and women (living and dead), then this book will bring you a great deal of satisfaction.

Garcia has stirred up my fascination with his supernatural creations, and I do hope to read a fair bit more of his work in the very near future. If this is the level of imagination he brings to the table in only his second publication, I am extremely excited to see what he will publish next. I am very happy to rate this book a perfect 4 out of 4 stars.

I like how there’s a mix of supernatural and psychological stories in this collection! Even with its complex plots, I’m glad to hear that each story is well-thought-out. Themes of violence and addiction may not be for me, but I’m glad to hear you thoroughly enjoyed this book! This author sounds very talented. I hope you do get to enjoy more of his books!

These collection of short stories, each with their own theme and elaborately written in a complex, yet compact form, is one I recommend to a mature audience and paranormal fans, as the author brings to life bizzare creations in this book. The strong and powerful feminine characters herein, are bound to leave a lasting impression on the readers, regardless of the length of their stories. A well deserved BOTD and keen review.

I am not a short story fan and don't believe in the supernatural, so I don't believe this book would be a good fit for me! However, it sounds like the stories are well-written and intense, so I believe this book will be a great read for short story fans. Thanks for the great review!

A collection of tales of the supernatural written using a remarkable style are certainly intriguing. I see that they can be quite dark, so they might not be for everyone, but if you don't mind some violent and morbid content, I think this book contains some terrific examples of supernatural stories with a twist. Thank you for your great review!

I love crime and thrillers and I don’t mind short stories. What I am not excited about is the supernatural aspect of the book. I’m happy you enjoyed it though.

What I don’t really like about short stories is the inability to become involved, but apparently that's not a problem here.

This collection of supernatural tales features in each story a plot with enough twists to keep readers engaged throughout. It seems like a good deal for those who tolerate themes of violence and are fans of supernatural elements.

I do love a great deal of supernatural fantasy with a splash of violence, a hint of murder a dollop of morbidity to spice up a good story. A very enticing review I am most eager to read it. Thanks for the review.
