Review of An American Conspiracy
An American Conspiracy by Alan C. Moore is a political crime thriller. Yasin’s morning prayers did not prepare him to face his suicide mission at Saudi Arabia’s Kingdom Centre Mall. Yasin decides not to complete the mission, but the choice is taken away from him when the bomb is set off from a remote location. Four oil derricks in the Gulf of Mexico belonging to China, Russia, and the United States are bombed, creating a hole in the ocean floor spouting oil. If that is not enough, the OPEC headquarters in Vienna, Austria, is bombed, and all the executives are beheaded. Shuhada’ Alnnabi claims responsibility for the attacks; however, officials in the United States government are not convinced because usually, before a terrorist attack, all terrorist electronic communications stop, which did not happen in these cases. Amidst all the terrorist attacks, Senator Boyd Radford commits suicide and leaves an unsent email that Congresswoman Madison Gladstone must be protected at all costs and left alone. What does Senator Radford mean in the email? Is there a connection between the bombings and the email? Is Congresswoman Madison Gladstone in danger?
This 268-page book has 49 short chapters that flow smoothly between the terrorists, bombings, and political activities in Washington DC. Alan C. Moore skillfully uses bold, italics, and regular text to offset video feeds, emails, and other communication. I found Planet Rescue’s involvement with the political factions interesting. I appreciated that President Wilson stressed that people should not judge all Muslims for the actions of a few to prevent stereotyping these individuals. Deceit, fear, and love are only a few of the emotions I sensed while reading about the fully developed characters. The political intrigue, suspense, and fast-moving plot kept me turning the pages to the unexpected end.
This fantastic book has no negative aspects. It is an enjoyable read with only a few minor errors that a professional editor could have easily missed. Therefore, I can safely say that this book has been professionally edited.
There is no reason for me not to give this delightful book 4 out of 4 stars. The story is realistic in showing how easy it would be for an organization to take over a country due to the carelessness of individuals in getting rid of incriminating information.
Mature readers who enjoy political thrillers that involve terrorists are the ones I would recommend this book to. The non-borderline content makes this book unsuitable for readers under the age of 16. If gory content disturbs you, you may want to avoid this book.

I am curious to discover what the senator and the congresswoman know about the attacks.
