Faults by Orion Gregory is a thriller about Sydney Livingstone, a tennis player who has travelled from Savannah, Georgia, to play in the Mainspring Mutual Open (MMO) tournament in Silverhill, Ohio.

Sydney never expects to receive an anonymous delivery of Crystal 10 bourbon at her hotel room - along with a handwritten note referencing the suicide of her best friend - not too long after arriving at the Hampton Inn in Silverhill, but that's exactly what happens. At first, she thinks it's just her boyfriend, Enzo Martin, playing tricks on her. But she asks him about it and he denies doing such, making her even more uneasy.

The next day, she goes to the Wukeson Family Tennis Center to practice for her upcoming matches. As she heads to her rented Corvette after concluding practice for the day, she sees a message painted on the driver's side door, which reads: "Die Bitch!"

These events cause seeds of worry about a potential stalker to be planted in her mind, and she begins to wonder who exactly is doing this and why. Little does she know that this is only the beginning. Throughout the book, the stalker's activities become more and more chilling. But who would hate Sydney Livingstone enough to kill her? Is this person in her inner circle, and will she find out before it's too late?

To be honest, I did not dislike anything about this book. It was quite interesting, and after putting it down once (for only a short period of time), I picked it up again, determined to get to the end, and I do not regret the fact that I spent time to do that. At this point, with the number of thrillers I have read, I have a bias for books in this genre that include either the first or third person point of view of the antagonist(s). This book was one of them. The view of the antagonist added more suspense to the entire text.

According to the description of this book, you don't have to be a sports aficionado to enjoy it. Having read and enjoyed the book with no experience in tennis or even sports, I can confirm that this is true. Another thing I loved about Faults was the way Sydney's thoughts about the stalker and her safety were worded throughout the book. For me, reading about her thoughts and worries (which were in the form of questions) was like seeing her mind through a transparent glass, and it only made them more authentic, humanlike, and relatable.

The book doesn't have explicit erotic scenes. However, there are instances of profanity in the book, so I would not recommend it to younger readers. There are only a few counted errors (the rest are uncounted), neither of which affected my understanding of the book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars, not only because there were minimal counted errors, but also because I believe it truly deserves such a rating.
