Review of Jake Miller
Jake Miller by Billy Ray Williams is a story about a cop who grew up in one of the mini-neighborhoods of the “city of Neighborhoods” (Philadelphia). Detective Miller went to the Federal Courthouse, at 6th and Arch Sts. Philadelphia, to testify for the Prosecution, in a $50 million drug case that he, and his partner Detective “Sonny” Burns, worked on, with the D.E.A., after testifying, Jake left the courtroom and headed towards the security lockers where he retrieved his weapon and cell phone, and that was when the once bright and normal day in Jake’s life swapped sides with Doomsday.
Jake was brought down to the Jersey shores in a squad car, to behold what was left of his house after his partner Detective Burns met him at the Federal Courthouse after his testimony to inform him about the explosion at His house. The scrapings from the crime scene which was once Jake’s house turned out to have traceable amounts of military-grade C4 and that information sent all the fine cops of The Cape May Courthouse Police Department into the cold streets of New Jersey and Philly in a quest for justice.
The path to justice for this story unlocked a domino effect of crimes that took both blood and bullet. The story’s theme stretches from manipulation down to the cold sweat beads of betrayal, it is an intriguing piece of art meant for the mind’s wonder.
Cliffhangers, when used properly produce a sense of wanting, and when the later chapters of the story go on to reveal more about the story, it produces satisfaction, and that is one of the things that made this novel a full entertainment package, it met all my expectations. I didn’t find it hard reading through the novel, the experience was real and entertaining, and the writer was generous with suspense and I like it.
What would have happened to justice if the Cape May Courthouse Police Department had believed in luck and coincidence? maybe, just maybe, not believing in luck and coincidence might break some false end walls in our lives, for example, the case the detectives were working on for a long time suddenly got wrapped up, and one of them said that they got lucky on this one, while the Cape May Courthouse Police Department doesn’t believe in coincidence or Luck, his statement was questioned by one of his colleague and those questions unwrapped the once wrapped case and that gave way for Justice
This book is so good that I find it hard to dislike any part of it, this book was professionally written and edited with all carefulness except for a few errors. I would recommend Jake Miller to anybody who loves detective stories in the sense of a serial gun-themed thrilling venture. There are sex scenes in this novel and Profane words were used. I would give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars despite the few errors denting this pure art because the book has this already published sense of feeling that gives it a place already on the shelves.
