One mistake was all it took to cause the fiery crash that forever changed Margaret Lido’s life. As the air traffic controller blamed for the human error that caused the death of every passenger on the two jets, she faces death threats and must find a way to start a new life.

Jeffrey Kaye, the sole survivor of the horrific crash, must also find a way to start his life again anonymously. Permanently scarred, with a long road to recovery, Jeffrey hopes to find his future with the beautiful Viola Cordova. Viola just moved in next door but hides secrets of her own. Jeffrey quickly learns that his rival for Viola’s affections is Larry “Fitz” Fitzgerald, the handsome man who frequently crosses Viola’s path. But even Fitz has a private lifestyle that he wishes to remain hidden.

These four lives are woven together by destiny. Set on a collision course of complicated interactions, will each find their happy ending? Find out in An Accident Waiting to Happen by Donna Lattanzio.

From the start, I loved how emotionally attached I became to the characters involved in this story. The author did a fantastic job of introducing each person and getting the reader invested in their individual stories in the first half of the book. As the novel progressed, I was riveted to their stories and couldn’t wait to see how things would turn out. The author used short chapters, so I never felt separated from any one character for too long. The short chapters also made this book feel like it progressed quickly.

Predicting how each choice would connect one character to another was enjoyable. I loved how the author built the interactions tentatively, revealing the intricate connections between the characters the further the reader gets. The author’s writing kept me fully engaged in the relationships that developed between the characters and had me constantly guessing how things would turn out. The ending had a shock factor that was well-planned and psychologically satisfying. Several sticky situations developed, and I was pleased with how the author conclusively dealt with each, even though some of these conclusions were a bit dark.

I loved reading this thrilling novel and found nothing to dislike. I noticed very few errors in this well-edited book. Therefore, I have no reason to give An Accident Waiting to Happen anything less than four out of four stars. I recommend this excellent novel to readers who enjoy character-driven thrillers with a bit of romance. Non-borderline swearing existed in the story, but the sexual content was not erotic. This book was a standalone read, not part of a series, but I look forward to reading more from Donna Lattanzio in the future!

Am yet to read the whole book but the prologue is very interesting. I love that they are not many characters. The author picked a leaf from real life events of how everyone has a skeleton in the closed that they don't want even their shadow to see.

I can see how some of the characters are connected just by your description, but others are more difficult. I think I’ll have to read this novel in order to find out how. I’m so curious.

The characters' intertwining stories can be interesting but I'm not sure I want to read a novel based on a tragedy with its ramifications. Regardless, thank you for your great review!
