Review of E M P Honeymoon
Tom was having the moment of his life. He had just tied the knot with Kelly and was looking forward to a smooth-going honeymoon. That changed the day that Kelly accidentally discovered the lyre of a terrorist organization. It appears that preliminary planning for an attack on the United States has begun. This attack was not one they had ever seen before, for it was bigger and more detailed than anything the world had experienced. Thankfully, Tom was a cop, but how far can a cop go to stop terrorist attacks? Does he have the right equipment he needs in his lone fight against these haters of peace and prosperity?
I want to get the negative aspects of E M P Honeymoon out of the way first. What I disliked most about the book was that I didn't get as much information as I would have liked about the terrorist group and their leader. Yes, Dorothy May Mercer mentioned the temperament and character of the leader of the terrorist organization. However, I wish she had given more information about the military. I wanted to learn about the mental orientation of those fighting under this dictator's banner. I felt this book had so much promise and would have done much better in my mind if Dorothy May Mercer had just added this detail.
With the negative details out of the way, I would like to concentrate on the positive aspects of E M P Honeymoon. One of the things I saw and liked was how much information the author provided on the activities of those in the White House during terror attacks. Now, I have no way of knowing whether or not what she wrote about is the order of the day whenever something of this sort arises in the United States. However, I was impressed because it looked like the real deal.
The most appealing aspects were the plot and storyline of E.M.P. Honeymoon. True, it talks about terrorists and the classic play of good vs. evil. However, there is a bit of a twist and a lot of suspense in the mix. For instance, I liked how Kelly and Tom were not sure who to trust, even when a possible friend came their way. This may sound a bit sinister, but the suspense that came with that particular scene was mind-blowing to me. Still furthering the exciting plot, there were a lot of unexpected turns of events at the end of every chapter in the book. This particular feature is what I liked most in the book.
For the most part, E M P Honeymoon was a beautiful work of art. Reading it was like watching a well-detailed movie in my mind. This shows that Dorothy May Mercer understood the assignment when she picked up a pen to write this story down. She also edited it in a manner that was just too exceptional. I did not see any errors while actively searching for that. Because of all of these, I have decided to rate E M P Honeymoon 4 out of 4 stars. I may have disliked something about it, but the book was just too good at the end of the day. I couldn't bring myself to rate it lower than that. I recommend E M P Honeymoon to readers who enjoy classic good vs. evil battles in novels.
