Review of E M P Honeymoon
E M P Honeymoon is a book written by Dorothy May Mercer. The story revolves around two main characters named Kelly and Tom Turbulo. They had just gotten married and had excitedly commenced their honeymoon on the Caribbean island. However, what would have been a beautiful period for them turned into something else. Tom was a police sergeant, while Kelly was the younger sister of a senator named Michael McBride. Kelly finds out about the plan of a group of terrorists to bring down North America by creating an electromagnetic pulse. She calls her brother and exposes everything to him. Senator McBride then reaches out to some of his workers who can handle investigative cases perfectly. Cynthia Patterson and her team members now joined Kelly, Tom, and the senator to begin the investigation. Did they succeed in stopping the plan of the insurgents? The answer was revealed in this book.
Apart from the romantic and investigative aspects of this book, it was also educational. I particularly enjoyed the section in which it was mentioned that the United States of America has one of the most powerful military forces in the world. I imagined how their government must have put a lot of measures in place to ensure that their military force remains unrivaled. The plot development of this story was very interesting and organized. All the events that unfolded were thrilling and thought-provoking. Tracking down terrorists is not something that can be achieved in the twinkle of an eye; it is something that can only be achieved by effective planning, teamwork, and research. Kelly, Tom, Cynthia, and her secret team of investigators did a lot of background work before they could have a clue about the insurgents' moves.
I love the way the island where Kelly and her husband, Tom, lodged for their honeymoon was carefully described; it showed that the beaches on the island were very beautiful. It made me appreciate the beauty of nature more. I also loved Cynthia's character; she had a great love for her mother and mother-in-law, considering that the book mentioned that she planned to buy awesome pieces of items for them.
I'm giving this book a rating of four out of four stars because there was no aspect that I disliked. It was professionally edited, considering that I only found a few minor errors. The storyline was not ambiguous; rather, it was written in very clear terms, which made me understand the subject very well.
I recommend it to anyone who loves reading investigative and romance books; people who desire to work in the criminal investigative department someday; and people already working in various government or private investigation departments because they would find this book's content very beneficial.
