Review of E M P Honeymoon
Dorothy May Mercer wrote the book, E M P Honeymoon. Kelly and Tom had recently married. Almost every intending couple desires to visit beautiful places for their honeymoon. Kelly and Tom's plan for their own wasn't different either, because they chose an amazing location called the Caribbean Island to enjoy their honeymoon. On the other hand, Kelly, as an avid lover of the family, decided to surprise her mother and mother-in-law with beautiful items. To make this happen, she proceeded to a shop to make her purchases. She found another room behind the entrance of the shop, and innocently entered just to see what it looked like. She discovers that it was a strange high-tech lab. Sensing danger, she flees the scene and immediately calls her brother, McBride, to inform him of her discovery. After investigations were concluded, it was concluded that terrorists were in charge of that strange room. They aimed to create an electromagnetic pulse that would destroy North America. Senator Michael McBride then reached out to prominent criminal investigators who would destroy the plans of the insurgents.
Sometimes, making some decisions helps us learn new things or discover hidden truths. Assuming Kelly and her husband, Tom, didn't decide to visit the island to create beautiful memories for their honeymoon, Kelly might not have had the thought to buy things for her two mothers at that time. Going further, assuming she didn't enter that shop, she wouldn't have encountered that strange lab. Hence, this part of the story made me believe that making some decisions tends to make one discover new things. I also love the fact that Kelly was brave enough to let someone else know of her discovery without minding if she was being trailed or not; the insurgents would have attacked the nation immediately if they had sensed no one knew about their deadly plan. I learned from this scenario that keeping quiet, especially when it involves a person's life, shouldn't be practiced. It is preferable to speak up when you feel threatened or when your country feels threatened.
Kelly and Tom must have been great lovers of nature, hence the reason they chose to spend their honeymoon on the beach. This made me have the desire to visit a beach someday. For me, visiting the island someday would make me appreciate nature more. In addition, this book's storyline was very compelling.
I didn't detest any aspect of this book. I found the content to be very engaging and concise. It was also professionally edited. because I only stumbled upon a few errors. All the characters were clearly described because I never got confused trying to figure out the role that each character played in the storyline. All these reasons influenced my decision to give it a rating of four out of four stars.
The only people I would recommend this book to are avid readers of romantic stories, investigative write-ups, lovers of nature, investigative officers, presidents of nations, and lovers of new knowledge because they would find the story likable. Others not mentioned might not enjoy it because it's not their favorite type of book.
