Review of E M P Honeymoon
I've always wondered how terrorists planned, prepared, and executed their attacks on countries. Sometimes, I sit down and even wonder what they stand to gain. Dorothy May Mercer wrote E M P Honeymoon to explain terrorism. She wrote a story in which a terrorist leader called Dear Leader went out of his way to acquire an electromagnetic pulse weapon to destroy North America. Tom and Kelly are tasked with stopping Dear Leader's plans in their tracks. They must do everything possible to prevent Dear Leader's destruction of North America.
E M P Honeymoon instills in me the importance of patriotism to our country. The need for one to be loyal in body, soul, and spirit to their country cannot be overemphasized. I understand that we may not trust the government. We may not even want to listen to them speak. But at the end of the day, this country is our only home. As Tom and Kelly did, we must stand up and fight for it.
The first thing I liked about E M P Honeymoon was how the author organized the story. I was glad to find out that Dorothy May Mercer deviated from the norm of providing chapters for books or her stories. Instead, she focused on arranging it like you would see a drama piece. Secondly, I enjoyed the flowery language and the light jabs the characters threw at each other. Seeing how they could make light of a horrible situation made me appreciate the story more. The third thing I liked, and the most important element in this book for me, is the main storyline. I enjoyed watching the war between Dear Leader's terrorist group and the USA. It was so beautiful to see how the USA interacted with that group and how both parties worked hard to foil each other's plans. That was like watching something out of a movie. That particular part of the story is what I grew to like the most about it.
The majority of E M P Honeymoon was enjoyable for me. However, there were times when I was frustrated with it. A classic example of the thing that I disliked is the images. Not all the pictures were terrible. I liked the picture of the electromagnetic pulse that Dorothy May Mercer showed. However, there were rockets at the end of each main plot. It did not make sense that she would put those rockets there. They were not even that beautiful, and it felt like a total waste of space to me. I'm not trying to be unnecessarily cruel or harsh with my words. I'm just being honest with my feelings. So yes, those pictures of rockets are what I liked the least in E M P Honeymoon.
I give it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. It deserves it, despite my dislike of those pictures. It had no errors. I mean, it was exceptionally edited.
Since E M P Honeymoon is about terrorist attacks on a beloved continent. You should read this if you love books that follow that theme. You may find some of it disturbing because of the description of the wickedness of some terrorist organizations. If you can look past said wickedness, I believe you will enjoy the story E M P Honeymoon tells. If this is your cup of tea, I urge you to pick up a copy of this.
