King and Koontz

I recently received a box of books from my cousin, and among them were a few books by Stephen King and Dean Koontz. I am really keen to read them all, but I'm not sure which one to start with.

I read The Mask long ago and I can only remember that as a highschooler it scared me.. As an adult with children I went back and looked at it and it made me anxious on such a deeper level. So, yeah, that's a good book. Also if you've got any idea what The Shining is about I would definitely read it somewhere towards the beginning of your journey. It's so wonderfully creepy and intense!

Seize the Night by Koontz is an excellent choice. If you like the character Chris Snow, then I would suggest reading Koontz's Fear nothing that deals with the same character. King's book Pet Semetary is a absolutely wondrous horror gem.

I enjoy both authors I am currently reading Koontz. Check out the Odd Thomas series. It is one of my favorites!

Both awesome authors. I prefer Koontz myself. Out of those listed, I'd start with Seize The Night. I agree with the Odd Thomas suggestion. I just picked up the latest (and last) of the series and I'm really looking forward to reading it.

As a huge King fan i would recommend The Shining ignore the film and read the book for what it is ... art! To get chills reading a book is something else! Pet semetary is very good also but again ignore the film if you have seen it as it ruins the book Enjoy!

I love Stephen King. Horror is my favorite book genre, and King rarely disappoints me. My favorite book by him is Pet Sematary. It is super creepy, and it is a lot of fun to read.

I was not a huge fan of The Tommyknockers, and I actually read an interview with King where he states that Tommyknockers is one of his least favorite books.

I have not read many of Koontz's books, but I really want to change that sometime soon.

From the Corner of His Eye is my very favorite Koontz book. It's has multiple POVs and a sort of complicated plot but it doesn't get confusing. Aside from that, the Odd Thomas series is amazing. Also the Moonlight Bay Trilogy.

Dolores Claiborne is hands down my favorite King Book. I highly recommend it. And Seize the Night is a good book to start on for Koontz. Out of the two though, I'd always go King over Koontz.

Intensity! It is my favorite book! My high school english teacher recommended I read it my sophomore year. I reread it at least once a year and it still is just as captivating! The whole book takes place in a 24 hour time period. Amazing read!
