E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer is a mystery thriller about terrorist attacks and launch tests. It presents a top-secret mission on a Caribbean Island in Central America. Also, the novel illustrates themes such as conspiracy, warfare, science, and love.

Briefly, the book focuses on a terrorist cell from Korea and the attempt of the CIA and Space Force to neutralize it. Senator Michael McBride receives a sudden call from his younger sister Kelly. She is on her honeymoon with her husband, Tom Turbulo. Their vacation takes an unexpected twist when Kelly accidentally discovers a secret lab inside a gift shop in Honduras. Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Kinney gives a televised speech about super-solar flare and electromagnetic pulse.

I liked the fast-paced narration and the engaging dialogues. I enjoyed the character development, and my favorite character was Steve Spalding. I was intrigued by his skills to spot the lies when he was talking with different people, and I loved the teamwork between Steve, Agatha, Sharon, Tom, and Kelly when they were looking for clues about the terrorist group and their secret plan. Also, I liked that Dorothy May Mercer presented Cynthia and Sky, whom I adored in another of her books, Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War, and their involvement in the investigation.

Another positive aspect of this novel is the blending of mystery and suspense. I was intrigued by the terrorist plot and the descriptions of the nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles. I appreciated that Dorothy May Mercer presented the working conditions of the scientists within the secret project led by General Lee. For example, she illustrated Lee's methods to keep each group in check for the progress of bomb preparation. However, I would have liked the ending not to be so abrupt and to read more about Steve and Sharon's relationship development.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I enjoyed the suspenseful plot and the investigation's plan. I was captivated by the suspicious activity in Honduras and the mysterious shipping containers. I loved Su-jin's awkwardness in her conversations with Steve and liked the humor that balanced the tension created by the existence of a rocket launcher. Also, E M P Honeymoon was professionally edited. I discovered only two punctuation errors that did not affect my reading.

I recommend this book to people who enjoy stories with terrorist plots and a little romance, especially fans of secret missions and satellites. It is perfect for those interested in fast-paced action and transparent characters. Also, E M P Honeymoon is suitable for teenagers and adults due to its very light erotic content and non-borderline profanity.
