Darkness Visible by H.T. Bell is a collection of poems on various topics ranging from darkness, horror, and death to creepy stuff.

The poems consist of all poems that are titled. The first poem, titled "Bus Stop," is about someone who was waiting at the bus stop for a bus and started hearing his name being whispered. The next poem, "Merry Krampus," is about a poem wishing that something would visit and "punish" them, especially during Christmas. The third poem, "Clown," is about a man who dresses like a clown with scary features. "Skeleton in the Closet" is a poem that metaphorically describes how everyone has their deepest secrets. "Road Kill" is a poem about someone who was driving and hit an animal. He went outside to check what it was. He saw something rather scary. What was it?

Darkness Visible by H.T. Bell is a collection of poems I haven't read before. I have always read poems about any topic, but not about creepy things. The short poems are grouped into chapters, and they are perfectly written.

One particular thing I love about poems is their ability to touch on any topic whatsoever. It could be about religion, sexuality, homosexuality, racism, and even creepy and scary stuff like in this book. This range of versatility of poets is genius, and I envy it so much. Also, I love how the poems in this book touch on something rarely talked about, something most poets don't write about. These poems were creepy and scary, but they also taught the readers important lessons.

A particular poem in the book "Paralysis" made me remember an encounter I had while sleeping one particular afternoon, a terrifying one. I experienced sleep paralysis for the first time in my life, and I was so scared that I thought I was being possessed. Mostly, the poems in this book are something one could relate to, mainly because some of the stories were ones we were told as kids.

However, a dislike I have about this book is the lack of suspense at the end of each poem. Poems basically should end with suspense to spice up interest and curiosity from the readers, but it was lacking here. For this reason, I would rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. The book was exceptionally edited because I found no errors. I would recommend this book to lovers of scary and creepy poems.

Creepy poems, are they? That's quiet unsettling (I should probably tell you that it is night time here). This genre in poetry is new to me. So, while I enjoy poetry, I haven't ventured into dark poems. It's not that I'm scared. I'm just a bit conflicted you know. Anyway, I like your review.

I agree with you about the lack of suspense. I also liked this book, but I didn't feel like continuing at some point because of the lack of suspense. That is not to say it wasn't a really good book though.

This is the first time I'm seeing scary poems. I wouldn't have imagined something like this without seeing it for myself. I'd like to have a peep but I doubt I'd fall in love with it. Nice review.

This is a new discovery for me. I have never seen or heard of a creepy poem before and I can't to see what it's like. It seems like the reviewer enjoyed reading it, so I can't wait to grab a copy. Nice review.
