Review of E M P Honeymoon
E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom by Dorothy May Mercer describes an unpredictable order of society and the subject of power play in the civilized world. Love and romance, violence, adventure, politics, government, military and non-combatants, science, terrorism, and friendship are among the themes included in this fictional book.
Two newlyweds, Kelly and Tom, are on their honeymoon in Honduras at the Barefoot Sands Resort and Spa (BSRS). A suspicious group attacks Kelly as she wanders off from a tour group into a small gift shop with an odd storefront. Still trying to make most of their honeymoon and also figure out what sort of operation they'd stumbled upon, Kelly and her cop husband, with the help of her brother, a US senator, find themselves working on a vast case alongside some old and new friends. Their private honeymoon, however, had evolved into espionage against a terrorist group, coordination with the appropriate authorities, and attempts to protect their nation from a nuclear attack. Tom enlists the aid of his police pals to uncover the identities of his wife's assailants. At the same time, Mike calls members of special agencies to warn them of the impending attack on Kansas City, USA, as it's probable that the country is not well prepared. Read this book to find out more.
The author developed the book's storyline using a structure that didn't cause the readers to lose interest in the narrative. The side plots in the book are closely linked to the story. The leading characters, Kelly and Tom, are just lovely. They made it entertaining to read about their love story while observing various conspiracies. I like how strongly connected they were to the other characters in the book. For these reasons, I am rating the book 4 out of 4 stars.
Observations from the book show that the development of the entire plot hinges on the stories of supporting characters like Steve Spalding and Cynthia Patterson. Humour and sarcasm were also skillfully incorporated into the story, which helped to make the characters likable. Due to their vivid personalities, Steve and Sharon might as well be my favourite characters, and I loved the nature of the Dear Leader's anonymity.
I did not notice any grammatical errors. However, I think the book's title is misleading. Also, I believe that the picture in the book did little to aid understanding. Besides that, there is nothing to dislike about the book.
The novel includes pretty extensive descriptions of the settings and the events that occur in these settings. Each chapter also had subchapters to help readers keep track of all the activities.
In essence, the narrative is worth the time invested in reading, only that it is more likely to be overlooked and substituted for another book with a more understandable title. I would recommend the book to people who appreciate intriguing story turns.
