E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom is a fiction book written by Dorothy May Mercer. Newlyweds Kelly and Tom Turbulo are on their honeymoon. While Kelly explores the island, she accidentally uncovers a terrorist organization plotting to annihilate modern Northern America by launching nuclear weapons to destroy the power grid. Together with Tom, CIA Special Agent Steve Spalding, and Cynthia Patterson’s special force team, they go on a dangerous mission to stop the missiles from being launched and must save the world as we know it.

Kelly is thrown into a very dangerous situation right from the start, and I think she handled it very well. Having a cop as a husband and a Senator for a brother has its advantages as well.
When Senator Mike McBride finds out that she is in serious trouble, he does everything in his power to help her. Kelly and the team uncover something terrifying as they work together to uncover the truth behind the terrorist group's plans. Professor Dr. Peter Kinney, winning nuclear physicist, appears on a talk show explaining what could happen if the power grid goes out. Computer systems powered by electricity keep society going. We all depend on it. He is scared that a solar flare from the sun or something similar made by terrorists might wipe out a super-generator. If that happens, our ozone layer will destruct and life on earth would eventually cease to be. The US is vulnerable to an attack from space and has no defense against a man-made electromagnetic pulse (EMP). This is what the terrorists bargain on as they plan their attack.

The author also shows how far terrorists will go to achieve their final goal. I sympathized with the employees working for General Lee. There is no empathy shown towards any of them and the methods they used to keep them quiet are extreme.

Kim Jung Lo is the unsung hero in this story. His morality outweighs his ego, and I believe that the right people are sometimes in the wrong situation for that exact reason. The subject of war is very close to the author’s heart and the amount of research she has done is visible throughout the book. Having read one of Dorothy May Mercer’s books before reading E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom, I already knew who some characters are, which I felt was to my advantage.

I couldn't find anything negative to say regarding this book. The book is well edited and easy to follow.

I give E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom 4 out of 4 stars. I enjoyed reading this book thoroughly and I could submerge myself fully in their adventure as they are trying to save the world from impending doom.

I recommend E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom to readers who enjoy a book that contains real-life scenarios integrated into fiction. War and terrorism are at the heart of this book, and I enjoy her style of writing.
