[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "The Beast Within" by Nathaniel Sheft.]
The Beast Within is a fictional book written by Nathaniel Sheftfield. Staan headed a deadly organization that had many members in it. Their focus was to cause mayhem in people's lives, and they made sure that none of them got noticed or caught in the act. Aris, another character in this book, grew up in a very harsh environment. He experienced events like war, which left negative impacts on him. He struggled his way through the trauma and healed. The result of this was that he got an amazing job and a beautiful partner in the end. Along the line, Staan meets Aris and tells him to join his team. Being innocent of Staan's activities, he joins and discovers a lot of strange things. He flees with his friend, Manuel, to an undisclosed location for safety. Would Staan come after them considering that they might expose his atrocities? To satisfy your curiosity, read this book.
When I reached the midpoint of this book, some events unfolded that I felt weren't connected to the subject. The events that described the preacher and his church seemed very unrelated to the main story. It made me not motivated to continue reading it. However, when I got to another part of the book, I found out that the events were integral parts of the story. I saw how they connected, and this made the book make more sense to me. After Aris became close to the preacher because of his admonishing messages and spiritual understanding, he observed that Staan got agitated about their closeness, considering that he informed him not to be close to him because he might expose them. Aris also demonstrated a very smart personality and good intuition; I liked how he carefully observed his work environment and knew exactly when to leave.
This book's plot was an unpredictable one. When you think that you know its outcome, another event unfolds and puts you in another round of suspense. Many years ago, Aris encountered a strange firehouse. According to rumors, people who work or visit there are frequently missing. A few days later, he hears news of a soccer team disappearing after they entered that house. No one knew why or how they went missing. Many years later, he becomes a worker in that house and discovers that the owner isn't truly who he says he is. You can see how unpredictable the events were.
This book was exceptionally edited. I was thrilled to find out that there were no errors. I love how the strange firehouse was described. The word construction was so beautiful and connected. The friendship between Aris and Manuel was a great one; they stayed with each other till the end. However, the font size that was used for the content didn't appeal to me. It was very small to the extent that I had to bring the book close to my eyes to enable me to view it well. Considering the above reasons, I'm giving it a rating of three out of four stars.
Ardent lovers of mystery, fiction, and crime thriller books will enjoy this story because the details in it will be familiar to them. Individuals who don't like these genres of books wouldn't enjoy this story because they would see it as being abstract.
