After hours, a gathering of young teens in a local mall soon becomes a bloody massacre when several masked men open fire, killing or wounding hundreds of innocent people. Before the local authorities can respond to the tragedy, the masked men commit suicide, leaving the venue in eerie silence. Los Angeles is still reeling from an attempted nuclear attack just years before, and they waste no time calling the government for assistance. The United States FBI and Homeland Security reached out to their dream team of Uri Levin and Lara Edmond.
The newly married couple leave their vacation at Lara’s childhood home in Ohio and immediately head for Los Angeles. They barely have time to meet with the local authorities before they receive word that the Chase Bank and Federal Reserve Bank in New York City are under attack by a group led by Sheik Abidin. The decision is made to use Lara and Uri as bait to lure Abidin into the open by sending the couple into the banks. But things go terribly wrong. Lara and Uri are kidnapped by the Sheik and something especially important is taken from the banks. At the same time, the government agencies involved discover that Iran has disabled much of the United States’ communication systems, disabling their ability to operate with any form of secrecy. Will this finally be the end of Uri and Lara? Will America finally fall? Or will good once again win over evil?
The Date Farm by Jack Winnick was filled with action from the first page until the last page. I loved how Jack was able to continue the relationship between Uri and Lara while still allowing them to have their own individual stories. The Date Farm is the kind of book that is hard to put down because I had no idea what was going to happen next. I can usually figure out the ending, and this book kept me guessing until the end.
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this book. It was professionally edited with no typos or errors. The plot flowed perfectly and was easy to follow. The Date Farm was a pleasure to read and I would read it again.
I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because of how enjoyable it is to read. I love the amount of action in this book and how it keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys heavy action and fight scenes. This book does have some language and romantic scenes. It is very Pro-Israel. Jack Winnick has outdone himself with The Date Farm.
