Outsourced Consequences, by Marc Rasmussen, is a page-turner thriller story narrated from a third-person perspective. Characters in this book make choices and have to take responsibility for their outcomes. Terrorism, romance, and politics are some of the featured themes in the book.

An aviator in the US army quits his job to pursue a new career in politics. Fortunately, all went well for Rossi, and he was elected president of the USA. As a new leader, Rossi is faced with the challenges of drug trafficking, terrorism, and nuclear weapon manufacturing, which he has to deal with. Bringing down a deadly weapons company in North Korea becomes number one in Rossi's mission, which succeeds with the help of his spy allies. In revenge, North Korea and her allies, including drug cartels from Mexico and a US senator, plot a historic bombing in the USA. Special military personnel, including the Groves' family, are deployed to the front lines to combat a deadly armed aircraft that has already breached US airspace and is just hours away from blowing up the country.

I fell in love with the simplified plot of this book. The narration of events was in order, with each previous chapter laying out a solid foundation for events in the next. The book switched back and forth between past and present events, thus filling readers in on every detail intended for the storyline. Additionally, Marc Rasmussen added more flavor to his book by expanding the problems in his story, which made me fully glued to the book to see how they would be solved. Plus, the action scenes were well-detailed for easy envisioning by readers.

Furthermore, I found the book relatable in many ways because the conflicts of who has the most military weapons are evident in today's world. Not to mention terrorism and drug trafficking, which are becoming nightmares for many global governments. Topics such as grief, crime, patriotism, and romance, among others, added life to the book. The scene that moved me the most was when Mark had to report for his military duty despite his wife's critical health condition.

Outsourced Consequences was professionally edited. I got confused in an instance where the author named two different characters "Lee," although they have different second names. With that not being significant, I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Individuals who like action stories will find this book interesting.

This book is quite the thrill. From Rossi efforts at being a good leader to North Korea’s schemes and treachery, a reader won’t want for action. That the book was professionally edited is the icing on a perfectly well made cake.

I am very intrigued by Mr. Rasmussen’s dive into the realm of politics. It sounds like this novel cover almost every aspect. I am especially interested in the drug trafficking and the terrorism. Those seem to affect real life the most.
