The Next Accident by Lisa Gardner

Post by ashley_claire »

FBI Agent Pierce Quincy has been dealing with his daughter's fatal drunk driving accident for a year when he receives new information that leads him to believe it wasn't really an accident. He hires personal friend and private investigator Rainie Conner to look into his daughter's accident. Then, all at once, remaining members of Quincy's family are being targeted in what can only be a personal vendetta against Quincy.

I consider myself a fan of Lisa Gardner, and this book was just okay for me. The romance between Rainie and Quincy doesn't really pull at my heartstrings or interest me much. The entire book really led up to what a brilliant person this unknown psychopath was to have done all this and planned it out so meticulously and thought of every little detail. And then flop, there went the end. Really leaving out as much detail as possible so as to not ruin the ending, but jeez, it's like Gardner just gave up. I will say that I'm curious as to where this series will go next with the changes that will occur with both Rainie and Quincy's careers.

To end on a happy note, my favorite Lisa Gardner book is Live to Tell. It's the first book of hers that I read (because I wasn't aware it was part of a series, doh!) and it made me a huge fan. I still get chills thinking about the first few pages of that book. So go read that one and maybe skip The Next Accident.
