Have you been searching for a book with the right amount of adventure and spookiness? Zipline by P. Anthony Michael would be your right choice. When Gail was younger, her uncle Perkins had always told her scary stories about the mountains. She relayed these stories to her best friend, Danny, who assured her they were just fables, though scary. Deep within them, a hunger grew to discover whether these stories were true or just tall tales. However, her uncle made her promise that she wouldn't venture into the mountains when she relayed her vacation plans to him.

Gail, her boyfriend Neal, Danny, his girlfriend Paula, and Sam decide to hike up the mountains to a cabin built on top, from where they'd take a zipline ride down the mountain, a ride they were very much looking forward to. However, on starting the hike, they realize that everything seems to be against them; even the foliage seems to discourage their movement, but they press on. Soon they start seeing illusions and noticing some strange beings. The team begins to ask themselves if all Gail's uncle told her were just fables or whether there was some truth attached to them. Read on to get the full details.

This book, Zipline, gave me quite an experience; it had been a long time since I read a spooky tale. The author promised that this book would be brief yet surprising. I doubted that initially, but I have to say that the book exceeded my expectations for it. It was a fast-paced blend of adventure, horror, humour, and fantasy. The characters were few but well-developed; my favorite was Sam, whose sense of humor helped to lighten the mood as the story progressed. The plot itself, though brief, was eventful and full of action, surely bound to hold the reader's attention. The grammar was also easy; I'm sure readers would have no issues understanding the writing.

The only thing I disliked about this book was that not much detail was given to the audience about some events in the story. Not much light was shed on the creatures and abnormalities in the forest. The book centered on just the group of friends. While this wouldn't be a problem, I just felt a little curious at the end. I commend this author on this exceptionally well-edited work; I did not encounter any errors throughout my reading. This book had a lot of suspense, but I think the climax was during Neal's issue; I wasn't ready for the outcome.

I give Zipline a rating of 4 out of 4. Although the book was a brief read, its suspense and adventure were things I didn't want to end. I recommend this book to all lovers of fiction, adventure, and spooky tales.

Seems the scary stories Gali thought to be fables were true. I'm curious to see what really awaits them in the mountains.

Do you ever wonder how stories like this get started? They have to have some basis in reality. Just because Danny didn’t believe these things didn’t make them any less true. On the other hand they weren’t any more true, either.

I have always thought that spooky tales are scarier in movies than in books. After reading this review, I'm reconsidering what I've always thought to be the deal. This book has a unique plot which I can't wait to explore. Thanks for the review.

Reading this review is already giving me the chills. We always like to see things for ourselves, forgoing warnings. I hope Gail and her buddies return safely. I'm still skeptical about reading this book because it seems that it will scare me.

I love reading short stories that are fun and would want you to read more. It's quite unfortunate you have those dislikes.

This book sounds like a typical horror movie. A group of people goes where they should not have gone, probably because they want to have fun, until it turns out to be their worst nightmare. I think I'll enjoy reading this book.

The storyline of this book is intriguing. I think this where the saying, curiosity kills the cat comes in place.
I like spooky tales and this is definitely not an exception.
Great review.
