Jace left his hometown for a faraway city to pursue his dream. Despite his loved ones' disapproval of this decision, he couldn't give up on his dream without trying it. One night, he impulsively took off without a thought to their protests. He refused to communicate with them while he was away. When things didn't go as planned, Jace returned to the hometown he once fled in a hurry. His family did their best to welcome him home, but the past kept haunting him. Somehow, he felt like an outcast in his home. His little sister wouldn't stop being hostile towards him, and his elder brother still felt hurt about his abrupt leaving.

When an unexpected accident occurred, which seemed to shake his family, Jace felt this vacuum expand. Not only was he quickly becoming an outcast, but his family also appeared to be hiding something very vital. What was this secret, and how did it affect Jace? Should he worry about this or focus on gaining his family back? After betraying their trust the first time, would this be possible? A Walk Through the Grapes by David Jackson is a thrilling story that dwells on the importance of family. The book spoke of forgiveness, love, secrecy, and family support.

Jace's family presented all the flaws a family could have. Their story touched upon the beauty and importance of having loved ones. This book was easy to read because of the author's striking mode of description. Reading this book felt similar to watching a movie. The narration style was cinematic, with an outstanding description. It was most enjoyable because the author narrated the story in simple terms. This simple yet rich narration made the storytelling compelling. The author narrated the story from the third person's perspective, and this made it easy to get into the minds of all characters.

I loved the book's setting. There weren't a lot of characters, but each character made a profound appearance. It was intelligent of the author to make use of that number of characters since the story was set in a small town. The story itself was intoxicating, and I easily got lost in the tale. Each chapter had an insatiable amount of excitement. This held my attention throughout the book. I also loved how the plot slowly played out. The author took his time rolling out the events in the book sequentially. He systematically unravelled each detail and mystery at the perfect pace.

The plot didn't feel too rushed or slow. It was just right. The characters were captivating too. They felt so realistic and were brilliantly developed. My favourite character was Dane. I loved how expressive he was with his feelings. Occasionally, his open expression of love for his brother shocked me. Jace's innocence was striking as well. I thought he was naive, but it turned out he was just simple-minded.

I disliked nothing about the book. Everything about it was up to par. The storytelling was stunning and compelling. The plot was beautiful and unpredictable as well. Although, I have mixed feelings about the book's ending. I was so shocked by the outcome that I still don't know how to feel about it.

I would give this book 4 out of 4 stars. It was a riveting read. Touching, funny, and shocking. Not once did I feel bored with any aspect of the book. The editing was satisfactory. I found a few errors, but they didn't halt the entertainment I got from the book. I commend the author on an applaudable job.

I recommend this book to lovers of entertainment. This book has all the elements to keep you occupied and lost in its world. Lovers of thrillers and mystery would love this book too. Countless events in this book would leave its readers shocked to a stupor.
