Review of E M P Honeymoon
[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
Tom found out that his life was about to be destroyed. Thanks to his wife's curiosity, he discovered that a group of terrorists were about to blow up North America. Unfortunately, the CIA, the FBI, and every other organization that was supposed to be responsible for taking care of this problem were not in the picture. They were nowhere near the country in which they believed the terrorist group to be hiding. It was up to Tom, his wife, and a group of excited security personnel to stop these terrorists. How can a handful of people go against a whole army of terrorists who do not mind dying for the cause they believe in? Will they stop the planned attack on North America before it's too late?
Dorothy May Mercer wrote E M P Honeymoon to show us how brave some people can be even when they know their lives are on the line. I believe she also wrote this to tell us that patriotism is a must. It tells us to always be ready to defend our country against its enemies. Maybe I'm just reading meaning into things. Perhaps that is not what she intended in the first place when she was writing this book, but at this point, I do not care because I learned so much from it. Understandably, many people will be skeptical about reading E M P Honeymoon because they do not know what to expect from it. I was also skeptical, but after reading it, I decided that the whole world deserves a sequel. It was that interesting.
E M P Honeymoon is a book I read in just a couple of hours. This is the most fun I've had reading a book in a while. It may seem like I am just overhyping this book because I'm trying to be nice, but that is not true. The plot's tempo kept me reading until I got to the page where the author put the last word. There were times when everything looked like it would go well, but an unexpected twist was thrown into the mix. There were also times when a fast-paced plot had come to a grinding halt, which slammed me against a figurative wall, leaving me feeling dazed and confused about what was going on. A good drama will do this to anybody. I promise you. Apart from all the drama, you should also know that it was very educational, and I learned so much about the White House and how certain terrorist groups operate. Now, that is information that I did not set out to know before I started reading this book.
E M P Honeymoon was exceptionally edited. This is definitely a positive feature of this book. But the most interesting and most loved feature for me is the drama I saw throughout the book. I really enjoyed reading it and did not dislike anything about it at all. I have decided to rate it 5 out of 5 stars. As I said, Dorothy May Mercer has written a book that deserves a sequel. It was just too good. The ultimate fact that I cannot mention anything negative about it is why I gave it that perfect rating above.
I recommend E M P Honeymoon to science fiction lovers. Many high-tech instruments and equipment were mentioned and used in the story. One can only imagine how intense a war that is fought with such equipment will be. I recommend it to those who want a good drama involving patriotic people waging wars against terrorists.
