Review of E M P Honeymoon
The United States had many enemies. It was not surprising to learn that a dictator who ruled a land far from the shores of the US was out to destroy it. What was surprising was the way this dictator planned on executing his plans. No one would have thought he would dare use an electromagnetic pulse on the USA in a million years. Unfortunately, it turned out that that was the exact trick this terrorist leader had up his pudgy magician sleeves. As if the bad news was not enough, the launch site was in a country where the USA did not have free hands to operate. It was up to Kelly and Tom, a couple who just wanted to enjoy their honeymoon, to hunt down the terrorists on that launch site and put an end to their operation for good. Can two people stop a dictator and his goons in their tracks?
I did not hate anything about how Dorothy May Mercer told the story in this book called E M P Honeymoon. Although I have read many novels by this author and saw that a few characters from her previous books made notable appearances in E M P Honeymoon, it can still be read as a standalone novel. I read this book over the weekend, and it was worth the time I spent on it.
I loved the progression of events. I also liked the very first plot in the story so much. It was filled with so much tension and heart-pumping exchanges. This scene got me pumped up for the rest of the book. Dorothy May Mercer started the story on a strong note, and she continued to impress and entertain me throughout the story. The way the story started is what I liked most in E M P Honeymoon.
I also loved the interactions between all the characters in the book. Seeing how the good guys interacted with the bad was amusing. I also liked the interaction between the dictator and his right-hand man. It showed me the kind of person the leader of the little terrorist group (with a gigantic ambition) was. I would not have enjoyed reading this book so much if the bits and pieces of the plot that showed me what the dictator was like had been omitted from the story.
Since I did not dislike even one thing about E M P Honeymoon and did not notice any negative aspects to it, it is expected that I do right by it. The perfection that Dorothy May Mercer ensured in this book has earned it a rating of five out of five stars from me. She also edited it exceptionally well, and I commend her for that.
I recommend E M P Honeymoon to readers who love fast-paced novels that show a face-off between terrorists and patriots of the United States of America. There is nothing like a good book to get one’s patriotic blood flowing. It is definitely worth reading.
