Crime in small towns makes for captivating, thrilling stories, and this breathtaking novel is no exception. When Caroline, the city librarian, and a few of her friends find Standard Poodles sneaked into their homes, they question the safety of life in the small, little town called Magnolia Bluff. Later on, there's a break-in at the library where Caroline works, and a man is injured by an unknown assailant. Thereafter, a woman named Teresa is killed in Caroline's alley. More murders spring up, and a serial killer is said to be on the loose. All seems connected, but the police find it difficult to put their hands on solutions. A concerned police chief tries to keep his head steady, having learned that his heartthrob, Caroline, may be a target of this killer. Teresa's husband, who was previously proclaimed dead, comes back from the grave after finding out that his wife caught up with his frivolous deals. Now here's what to watch out for: How are the dogs, the library, and the murders connected? Teresa was wealthy, so can greed, hatred, or both be the drive of this loose killer? Get a copy of this fast-paced novel, and see for yourself.

Dewey Decimal Dilemma by Linda Pirtle is a unique novel spiced with exciting levels of suspense, romance, thrills, and so much more. Linda Pirtle is said to be part of an illustrious authors' club, and I must say that her work is certainly impressive. As in every crime novel, the end of this book was the best part of it. I was intrigued by the revelations made, as the author kept me in such suspense that I felt hungry for answers. Moreover, I also enjoyed how the author tried to include romantic suggestions here and there throughout the book. The reading process was an eventful experience, one I wouldn't think twice about repeating. Hopefully, I'll make sure to get my hands on other books by authors from Linda's club. I believe they'll all be fantastic writers.

It's a shame that the major negative thing about this book was its poor editing. Punctuation errors were prevalent, and I hate to admit that it was not professionally edited. The revelations made at the end of this book also bothered me. The killer was nabbed, but something bad happened to his cousin at the very end, and the story seemed incomplete. At first, I thought that maybe there was a Book 2, but the book introduced after it was nothing like Linda's novel. One of the puppies died at the end of the book, meaning that another killer was on the loose, but I found it puzzling that the story stopped short after this. All the same, the plot of this novel was fabulous, and I must give some accolades to the author for a job well done.

As I said earlier, I found more than the stipulated number of errors in this book, and I concluded that this book was poorly edited. However, because I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I'll rate it 4 out of 5 stars. It was a fascinating read, and I hope interested readers check it out.

I dutifully recommend this book to lovers of C/T/M/H novels. If you're up for a suspenseful ride into a small town where crime turns everything around, I'll advise you to take this lane. You're certain to be in for the ride of a lifetime.

You'd think small towns are safe places but they often hide the dirtiest secrets, so thrillers set in small towns always offer twists and revelations. Thank you for your great review!
