The fate of the entire world stumbles into the hands of Kelly and Tom, the main couple of the book E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer. When Kelly stumbles upon a sketchy plan on her honeymoon, it's up to her and her husband to find out what a mysterious foreign country's plans are for the United States.

Admittedly, I failed to believe that E M P Honeymoon would make me as enthralled in a book as I had led myself to believe, and I was pleasantly surprised. When I found myself engrossed in what I thought would primarily be a romance, this novel proved me wrong. The side characters of this novel were refreshing and held my attention when they introduced new elements in the plot. Additionally, the plot was simple and easy to grasp, though still conveying some sort of complexity due to the nature of the book's weapon. Still, Dorothy May Mercer made a very light-hearted book, meant to be enjoyed and loved at your leisure.

The main focus of the book is on the plot and side characters. Though at the start of the book the main characters are important, as the book continues, there is more attention to the side characters and how they add more to the story than the main characters. Also, while it seems to add some romance, I would not say this book is at all romantic, there just happen to be characters that are couples in the book, and the scenes between them are very scarce. Lastly, though this book seems to be action-packed, the entire book feels more relaxed than it should be, considering the threat of a deadly weapon over the United States. The characters, save for Kelly, are seemingly unfazed by any threats or problems that go their way. I never sense any true danger approaching the main cast of characters, making me feel that there never was any true danger.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and all that it offered, meaning that I rate it a 5 out of 5 stars. Not only is the book highly recommendable, but the editing was also flawless and deserves a perfect rating. I had no trouble reading and enjoying the book at all.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a light-hearted read full of action, slight romance, and science! Anyone can enjoy this book, so long as you accept that the main focus of the book is on the main plot and not on the characters themselves.
