Shadow Play

I just finished the book Shadow Play. I absolutely loved this book. The reappearance of Jenny was a bit disturbing at first, but then seemed to make sense. However, the coyote was a bit superfluous and really did not seem necessary to the story line, except maybe to identify Walsh. Anyone have a similar experience with this book?
