[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Nest of White Crows" by June Gillam.]
While individualism emphasizes the importance of each person's rights and interests, collectivism emphasizes the value of the group. In contrast to collectivist cultures, which value unity and altruism, individualistic cultures value individuality and self-identity. Knowing our ethnic heritage and race helps us identify with our culture, which is the strength of ethnicity. It prompts us to see social injustice in our society and encourages us to combat racism and hate crimes. In contrast to color blindness, to combat racism and segregation, we must be aware that they exist.
Hillary Broome, a female professor, is the subject of June Gillam's engrossing book, Nest of White Crows. Ed married Hillary Broome, and the couple had a daughter named Claire. At Clearwater College, Zale and Hillary Broome were given the responsibility of instructing an introductory ethnic studies course. The topic of discussion in class was racism and the human race. Some university groups were vehemently opposed to this class, which led to a lot of contentious events on campus. In order to ensure that the class would not hold while these difficulties persisted, Hillary Broome was abducted by Fury and his gang. What transpired following Hillary Broome's abduction? Did Fury succeed in getting her to end the class? Get a copy to learn more.
I was intrigued as I read how the author outlined each issue in great depth for simple comprehension. Over the years, racism and social inequality have been two essential issues that have been the basis of hate crimes. The causes of individuality and color blindness were illustrated by the author using the experiences of the people in the book. The reality of racism in society is made clear in this book, which also shows why it is up to each of us to speak out against racial injustice and hate crimes. Hillary was a role model for me because, despite being a white woman, she felt forced to speak the truth about society's discrimination against people of color, LGBTQ people, and other marginalized groups.
Hillary is my favorite character in this book because she was able to reveal the hidden truth. In this book, I admire her bravery. Only a few women will take such a brave step to speak out against wrongdoing in the world. The author's writing ability is exceptional. The book's characters are all well-developed and given distinct voices. This book teaches me so many things, one of which is the ability to speak the truth when necessary.
I have no complaints about this book. I must admit that this book made me aware of many things I was previously unaware of. I'd like to commend the author on her exceptional creativity. I'll also thank the editor for a job well done because the book is free of errors, indicating that it was meticulously edited. I rate this book five out of five stars because it has expanded my understanding and taught me how to treat people. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries and is opposed to racism in society.
