Review of Murder in the Garbage
It's never too late to change your life and seek growth and freedom; I imagine these were the words going through the head of Raoul Martez, the book's protagonist. Raoul Martinez is a retired military police officer and has applied for night school college classes. He worked at a waste disposal company as a garbage collector. He chose Triangle Waste Disposal because it's the largest in his area and could provide him with more opportunities. These actions were part of his strategy to get his life on track.
Murder in the Garbage is a fictional story about a literal murder in a garbage can. The author of the book is Jerry A. Greenberg. The plot revolves around Raoul Martez and a CIA agent named Hank Boucher, who used to be in the Navy Seals but now works for the CIA. This adventure gets interesting when the corpse of the CEO of the waste disposal company is in the garbage. Are there any relationships between the stolen object and the dead body? Read along to uncover the book's mysteries.
There is so much to enjoy about this book; it was thrilling, fast-paced, and presented the right amount of suspense. It had a lot of twists that I found fascinating, like his instant crush and relationship with the receptionist. The crossfire in the book and the fight scene were my favorite parts. The author gave a detailed description of the events and the character development. The book has some emotional plots, like the life of CIA agent Hank. I learned about some procedures of the FBI and CIA, and though they seemed fictional, I still enjoyed hearing about them. The description of the problems that came with Raoul's job and all the adjustments he had to make was realistic and showed how a new environment or change affects people. Reading about the buildup to finding the murderer and all the research done to uncover the murderer was quite exciting.
There was nothing to dislike about the book; the author's narration ability was profound, and the switch between different characters telling the story in the first-person perspective was done without causing confusion and carrying the readers along. The book connects as you read along, like connecting pieces of a puzzle. I found only one error, which did not affect my reading experience. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It is professionally well-edited, and the author has an excellent writing style.
I recommend this book to adult readers interested in crime, murder investigations, and suspense novels.
