Branch Curry is a nitrogen-addicted divemaster who, under the tutelage of a Mafia boss, Gonzalez Obeto, becomes a man without a conscience, obliterating his master's rivals without hesitation. After being dishonorably discharged from the navy for supposedly committing a serious crime, Branch leaves the United States and commits to the gangster life he has always hated. He goes on to work for one Omar Luna, a fearsome Mexican Mafia boss based on a beautiful island in Mexico. Omar plans to channel the funds of tourists who come to visit the resort into his account by setting up several ventures and businesses on the island. To increase his cash flow, Omar tries to build a pier in an area inhabited by corals so that more money from the cruise ships visiting the island will line up in his pocket. The locals and environmentalists in the area are not happy about it, and they intend to stop the construction to save the reef. On the other hand, Branch is asked to do some terrible things to Omar's enemies, and later on, he is asked to kill the people trying to stop him from building his pier. Unfortunately for Branch, these locals are his friends, and he is forced to choose between his loyalty to his dangerous boss or his attachment to the people endeavoring to protect nature's gifts. What choice will he make, and what will it cost him? Check out this fast-paced, action-packed, suspenseful novel to find out.

Deep Blue Saloon by Thomas Courtney Click is one of the best books that I've had the opportunity to read this year, and the fact that it's about drug lords and Mafia gangs is one of the major reasons why. I'm intrigued by any book that has to do with Mafia gangs because of the thrills, twists, and suspense that come with them. I was amused to realize that Branch got stoned by inhaling plain air while deep-sea diving. Many events that were so mind-blowing transpired in this book, and I must say that I never got tired of or bored with reading it. I completely enjoyed it from the beginning to the end, as I was fascinated by the lifestyle of Mexicans as described in the book. Furthermore, I also appreciate the message driven by the author in this book. He tried to convey the need to protect our planet because, as they say, it's the only place we've got. Day by day, natural resources are destroyed, and nature reacts to these tortures by creating disasters that cost us so much. With his impressive storyline and fabulous plot, the author helped me realize that if we destroy one coral reef today for development, we are unknowingly contributing to the early extinction of our beloved planet by depleting its resources for our benefit. I'm not a dedicated environmentalist, but I believe that we should take proper care of our planet, as it's the only one we have for now. These statements above are the positive remarks I have concerning this book.

Sincerely speaking, I was too fascinated with the happenings in this book to come up with anything negative about it. It has a very remarkable plot, as the suspense and action never dwindled throughout the book. Moreover, there were no errors in the book, which made the reading process effortless. However, beware that this book contains profanity and there are explicit details of sexual acts. For this reason, I'll say that it is more suitable for a mature audience. These explicit details did not bother me, as they only made the story more enchanting. Kindly note that this is my opinion of this book.

There were no errors in this book, and I must congratulate the editors for a job well done. It was certainly exceptionally well-edited. All said and done, I rate this masterpiece a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars. I do not see any reason to rate it less than perfect, as it is one of the best books I've ever read. You'd do well to check it out for yourself.

I would appropriately recommend this book to lovers of action, romance, suspense, and adventure. If you'll enjoy a book about the Mexican Mafia and drug lords, get a copy of this novel. I assure you, your mind is sure to be blown away.

That’s such a unfortunate turn of events and quite the tough spot to be in but I’m kind of happy that branch is in it since it’ll help hime develop as a human being (Assuming he actually chooses to not kill his friends).

It is mind blowing how the trajectory of a person's life can change due to circumstances. Branch was a good guy who hated gangster life. But due to his discharge join the same thing he hated. It makes me ponder about how a lot of the choices people make are a reaction to something.

This is what I keep repeating to myself. Most of these mobsters and gangsters lying around may only be victims of circumstances. They did not choose their destinies by themselves, but instead, the hands of fate made them who they are today. Branch was just one of them,as he wanted a purpose in life, he wanted to have a career. Gangster life made this almost for impossible for him.

I'll like to know which he chooses between his loyalty to his dangerous boss or his attachment to the people endeavoring to protect nature's gifts.

You should know that either of those choices have dangerous consequences, and Branch finds himself in a huge mess after he made his decision. Thanks for stopping by to comment.

An adventure with criminal activities involved and the environmental theme at the center. Many criminals exploit natural resources for their own interests, which are often purely economic. Thank you for your great review!
