Stalking the Enemy: A Lone Eagle Thriller by Jim Bradshaw is historical fiction that depicts the tale of Gordy Brown, Johnny Perry, Susan Perry, and Laura Jefferies as they team up to fight corruption among the top tiers in the United States of America.
The novel was narrated in a third-person perspective by William Gordon Brown, aka Gordy, who was among the major characters in the novel. When Gordy was 12, his grandfather told him a secret about the government, the CIA, the FBI, the military, and the corrupt acts within this system. He told him the secret of how they made fortunes from wars and sold opium to war veterans. His granddad did this in the hopes that someday in the future, Gordy might bring about a change. Gordy is now a grown adult working at the Congress Community Bank. He realized the secret his granddad shared with him about the government was true when he allied with his best friend Johnny, an Army Sergeant in the Delta Force, to uncover the secret members of the TNWO (The New World Order), LTD. What is Gordy to do now that he has made this huge discovery? Would Gordy and his team of four succeed in annihilating these corrupt leaders in the TNWO? What I found most appealing about this novel was the character development the author employed in it. He gave each major character a unique childhood development that inspired them to pursue a career where they could make a difference. For illustration, Laura had a tough childhood, and that strengthened her heart and gave her the courage to stand in the face of evil and do what's right. My favorite character in this novel was Johnathan Perry, aka Johnny, the best friend of Gordy. Johnny had always been the backbone of his friends; he wasn't the brain at school, but he was the muscle. Johnny stood up against bullies for his friend and his sister, Susan, while they were in high school. When he grew older, he was the team's tip of the spear, their lethal weapon to fight against the DAVON and the TWNO, LTD. Another point I liked was the growth of the relationship between Johnny and Laura and how they both met in Paris during the time of his basic training as a Marine. Their love grew stronger over time, and Laura was the light at the end of the tunnel for Johnny during his rough days.
There was nothing that I disliked about this novel; every chapter had something to offer, and I was curious to know what would happen next. Stalking the Enemy: A Lone Eagle Thriller by Jim Bradshaw elicits an emotional response from the reader, as I was opportune to experience sadness when Gordy disguised himself to be a member of the cult to attend their meeting. I also experienced joy when Gordy and Susan got married.
I would give this novel a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because I enjoyed reading it and I could find nothing to dislike about it. I would also state that this novel has been professionally edited, as I encountered a few grammatical errors in my process of reading this novel.
I would recommend this novel to readers of action, love, romance, government, and historical fiction, as these are the themes employed in the novel by the author, Jim Bradshaw. I would also recommend this novel to adult readers, as the use of profane words is excessive and there are gruesome acts described in the novel.
