Review of Somebody Wants To Kill Me
In the mysterious novel Somebody Wants to Kill Me by Richard Rees, tells a tale about a young women Karen Ryan, who finds herself involved in a cat-and-mouse game with a killer. When both of Karen parent passed away she finds herself finding the love of her life Paul Ryan. It felt like she was reborn again after spending years in the shadows of her overbearing father. But life was starting to come to ease right before coming back home from theyre honeymoon in Italy. On her way back home from visiting her parents in the cemetery, Karen finds herself almost dying twice due to someone chasing her down. Everything was all a blur to Karen, she had no idea who would ever try to murder her in the most brutal way, and to make matters worst she started receiving anonymous phone calls from someone say they won’t stop trying till she is dead. Karen then tries to convince her husband and friends is best she leaves for Italy, but they made it very clear to her that want a good idea, telling her is best to draw the caller into open. But who can Karen trust, what if the killer is closest to her. I would have to rate this amazingly written novel a 5 out of 5 because this is the first book that caught my attention in a drastic way that I finished the book in 5 days.
Somebody Wants to Kill Me is an intriguing, psychological thriller, filled with unforgettable characters that I couldn’t get enough of, starting with the lovely Karen Ryan, a young women who finally thinks she has a life figured out after marrying the love of her life Paul Ryan. But all comes to an end when Karen finds herself not trusting no one close to her including her husband, her ex-lover, an ex-marine, and a cop. Richard Rees makes sure he keeps his readers well entertained with terrific writing, suspenseful narrative, and emotional intensity. I could feel everything the characters experienced in the story, from the cold wind, to the emotions that drives the characters to act they way that they do in the novel, due to the authors great ability to thrust readers into scenes through detailed description.
The author has assembled an intriguing set of unique characters that make the story very memorable. In this mystery novel, it is interesting to see that everybody is a suspect. Karen has reason to believe that Paul may want her dead for her money. Michael still harbors ill feelings for losing Karen. Sam, Susan and Morgan also have their own motives. And further secrets are revealed as the story progresses. It’s even wondered whether Karen herself is a suspect, staging a dangerous situation for some unknown reason. Whatever, it’s certain that readers won’t figure out the ending until it is finally revealed. But various theories will surely occur in playing detective with the information until the final conclusion.
Somebody Wants To Kill Me is a professionally edited book and expertly channels all the elements that make for a quality mystery novel. Richard Rees clearly took a lot of time to add depth to the characters, who feel like real people, especially Karen, whom I could relate with on so many levels, considering her struggles to break out of her evil father’s shadow.
In conclusion Richard Rees deserves an award for his amazing writing ethic, he had be on the edge of my seat from the first page to end. The book was so amazing that it only took me 5 days to read it, once you begin reading your not going to want to miss out on all the mysterious event that's going on, or how involve you'll fall involve with the characters.
