Soul Seeker by Kaylin McFarren, is a Sci-fi fantasy novel. It’s about a demon named Crighton. Crighton is a soul seeker, which means he goes to earth and collects souls. We meet Benjamin Poe who is sitting on death row for killing his son, but he thought he was killing Crighton. Poe’s son was an arson and murderer. Poe ends his own life and ends up at the bottom of the lost souls well in hell. Next, we see Crighton re-animate two women and end a serial killer's life. Crighton goes to hell where he is given an assignment from Lucifer to bring him an Angel. It was a trap and the Angel aka Ariel and Crighton are captured. They escape by working together and realizing that they have a special bond. Crighton goes back to hell and Ariel goes to heaven. Because of their bond, they become sick when away from each other. Crighton’s Mother betrays Lucifer and helps her son leave hell. Because of this, they are considered outlaws and are being hunted. The Angel Castiel is exiled from heaven for helping them, and he turns out to be Crighton’s Father. Ariel was captured and taken by demons to hell. So they must go and rescue her, and while doing so, Castiel fights Lucifer. Will they save Ariel? Who will run hell? Does a demon end up in heaven? Will Crighton free Poe’s tormented soul? You must read to find out for yourself.

What did I like about this book? I liked that this book was fast-paced, witty, and a little gothic. The characters were well thought out and described. I enjoyed that I couldn’t tell what was coming, the suspense was fantastic. They were great character arcs for multiple characters. The idea of a demon falling in love with an angel is outstanding.

I didn’t like that this book had all the potential of being a remarkable series, but was missed. I wasn’t a fan of how there were two parts to this book in the same book. All in all, there wasn’t much about this book that I didn’t like.

I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 . I give this rating because I enjoyed it. I couldn’t put it down once I started. I fell in love with the characters and wanted them to succeed. I would also say that this book was professionally edited.

In my opinion, this book is not suitable for children or young adults. There was some explicit content explained and adult situations. There is some vulgar language but nothing too drastic. This is why I say this book is for adults only.
