When Eugene Rose, a fellow student in her glassblowing class, slumps over while blowing hot glass, Kate Chambers' amateur sleuth instincts immediately kick in. The chief detective, Stefan Jablonsky, is notified, and a few moments later, Eugene Rose is pronounced dead from ingesting poison. Chief Jablonsky is perturbed as to why anyone would want to murder a young student whose life was still ahead of him. After drawing up a murder board and interrogating Eugene's friends and family, Jablonsky determines that Eugene was killed because he found out about a family heirloom, a necklace, and a glass pendant with a picture of St. Augustine that cost a fortune and was determined to search for it. Things take a drastic turn for the chief detective when a Catholic priest, the disciplined head of the glassblowing class, Eugene's close friend, and his roommate all turn out to be suspects. With the help of Kate's amateur sleuthing skills, the chief tries to nail down the killer, who is blinded by greed and the desire to possess the object. Will the chief and his smart amateur sleuth be able to bring this killer to justice before another accurately planned murder takes place? Check out this fast-paced, exhilarating thriller to find out.

Broken Glass by Rebecca A. Miles is the kind of crime thriller that takes out all the gore and horror of a murder and instead dwells more on the minds and motives of the killers. To this day, there is almost no limit to what a collector might do to get hold of an art piece he values so much. Rebecca expatiated on the psychotic drive behind the minds of murderers, and I agreed with all her theories. In this mind-blowing novel, which is book two of a remarkable series, there were three sets of art collectors: the ones who collect art pieces simply because they appreciate the beauty and value of the piece; the ones who are driven by the need to possess the pieces due to greed and the desire to be famous; and the ones who believe that certain art pieces hold spiritual powers. The script of this book was exceptional, as I've never encountered a book with as many twists and turns as this one. Most of the events caught me off guard, and when I finally realized who the killer was, I was amazed beyond all speculation. I was attracted to Kate because of her desire for justice. Despite being a civilian, she involved herself in investigative duties as if her brother had been murdered. All these factors made this book very enjoyable for me, and I hope to clearly state that.

Sincerely speaking, I found nothing particularly wrong with this book. I was attached to the story from the beginning to the end, even though it took me time to read it completely. From my perspective, there is nothing to dislike about this book. It had only a few errors, but it was certainly professionally edited.

All said and done, I rate this outstanding book a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars. This clearly shows my appreciation of the book, and I'll certainly recommend it to my friends and family.

In conclusion, I would appropriately recommend this book to lovers of crime, thrillers, and suspenseful novels. If you'd love to go on a journey with Kate Chambers and Chief Jablonsky in finding the collector who holds an art piece in higher esteem than a human being, get yourself a copy of this book, and thank me later.

I hope the murderer behind Rose's death is brought to justice, before another death occurs.

In books like this, you have very little turning out the way you hope. Are you a fan of CTMH books?

I can't wait to know if the case was solved and served Justice for Rose. Wonderful review.
