The New D Street is a suspense thriller by Ravi Naik. It is about a mysterious street in India where strange things have happened. A team arrives to do an excavation there in search of a temple. The temple is suppose to have some kind of magical powers. Strange things start happening to The excavators and their families. Something starts to kind of possess them after finding the tomb with the temple. The main character, Walter, while striving to uncover the mysteries of D Street, watches as his friends in the team are picked off one by one.
I found this book difficult to read. The author states at the beginning of the book that he has translated this story into English. He states he wrote it in "simple English" so it would be easy to read for all ages. All it did was make it difficult to understand. The entire book was written in broken English.
The story line was confusing. The author kept changing things around and it didn't make sense. It seemed like he himself had no idea where the story was headed. It was like he kept changing his mind.
The ending seemed thrown together. The author tried to add a twist to the end but it didn't flow smoothly. It seemed like he was just trying to figure out how to end the book quickly.
There were countless grammatical errors. There were not any correct sentences in the book. It was the equivalent of baby talk. I don't understand why the author would try to make his novel easier for all ages to read when his target audience is young adult and adult. Correct English is better for adults.
The story could be good if it were revamped. There were a lot of good ideas but nothing really "caught" me. The author did try to catch readers by using the classic ghost story with a little bit of Jurassic Park added in but for me that was just more of the same old stuff from every other cheap scary movie. There are ghosts, large creature, a tomb and a stalker. It is a bit much. I felt silly reading about those things with the broken english. He needs to write the book for his target audience.
Unfortunately my rating for this book is 1 out of 4 stars. I was unable to get past the writing in broken English. Coupled with the bad translation it made the book really hard to follow. I was hoping the book would scare me. It could hardly even keep my attention. The book needs to be redone and edited with correct English.

Part 1 was boring but the part 2 really kept my attention.... and the ending was really suspense and reached my expectation...
But I accept the english was not quite good.. it requires a tough subject to understand..
My rating is 3.5/5 really good...
