Review of E M P Honeymoon
[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
Tom was excited. He was living the dream with Kerry, his new wife. While she was out taking a stroll on the streets of the country they were honeymooning in, Tom busied himself with enjoying the breeze from the comfort of a boat. Imagine his surprise when he got to his room and saw Kerry panicking. She claimed to have entered a secret lair belonging to terrorists who sought to destroy the USA. Tom believed his wife, but he would feel better if he investigated what was happening. Putting years of police training to work, he kicked off his investigation. Kerry was right. A group of terrorists was planning to blow up something in the USA. What exactly was their target? Time will tell.
Dorothy May Mercer wrote E M P Honeymoon. It is one of the books that follows the stories of various characters stopping terrorists and criminals from getting the upper hand in the USA. Although characters from previously published books remained in this one, E M P Honeymoon can be read as a standalone novel. Dorothy May Mercer is easily one of the best writers I have seen. I say this because I have met just a few authors who were able to keep me interested in their stories for a long time. Why is this my stance? You will find out soon.
Dorothy May Mercer provided a story that showed me things from the perspective of the heroes and the antagonists. The chief antagonist was Dear Leader. He was a character that amazed me, and I both liked and hated him. He was not the regular terrorist boss you will usually read about in books. His reasons for launching that attack on the USA were even more surprising. I loved how unique this evil boss was, and he quickly became what I loved most in E M P Honeymoon. Please do not get the wrong idea. I do not support the evil he did. I only liked how different he was from the other evil masterminds I have seen in books. His character was not cliché. That is what I cherished so much.
I noticed no negative things in E M P Honeymoon. The story was interesting from the beginning until the end. It was even funny at some points. I liked how the characters related to each other at times. It broke the tension that was beginning to develop in some plots. Also, E M P Honeymoon was edited exceptionally well. It is never easy for an author to ensure that there aren't any errors in their books. Dorothy May Mercer ensured no mistake was left before publishing this book. That is something worth commending. I was happy with everything I saw in E M P Honeymoon and did not dislike anything. I give it the perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars because of everything I have outlined so far. I wonder what other adventures Dorothy May Mercer will write about next.
E M P Honeymoon is for readers who like seeing couples team up to solve a case. Tom and Kerry were a dynamic duo that put their country before their happiness. That level of patriotism is what many people pray for today. If you like books showing the lengths patriotic citizens of the USA will go to to protect her interests, I highly recommend E M P Honeymoon to you.
