In his book Endgame, author William Reed examines the flaws that might lead a formerly advanced civilization to nurture its enemies and ultimately bring about its downfall. In the novels, a society where some individuals may be divided by tribalism and religion is presented as being very dangerous to human existence. A very small percentage of these people go on to become "awake" and "extreme," using terrorism to influence uninvolved bystanders.

The book begins with Nat Jameson in London reporting to Jim Preston, the American Ambassador. He possesses every amenity a guy could need in a house, including a gorgeous wife, two adorable children, a respectable career, and a fantastic apartment. He is a cheerful individual. But sooner than he imagined, Nat's unexpected good or bad suggestion would throw all of his plans for a loop. This idea would involve a select number of additional senior officials, including the US Ambassador, Vice President, and President. The ultimate goal of Nat would be to meet with senior members of the well-known terrorist organization al-Qaeda, whose supreme leader they believe to be in charge of a nation's regional mosques. Nat would perform deeds like overthrowing the American ambassador and planning the vice president's assassination in order to win over this Islamist organization. While keeping this from his family, Nat would also need to cope with his mother's illness. Will this strategy ultimately lead to Nat's destruction or will it offer a long-term solution to the Western terrorist issue?

This book's prologue does a good job of setting up the reader for an outstanding thriller by generating intrigue and building anticipation. I applaud the author for doing so since it would have required extensive study and the appropriate kind of insight to write such a magnificent story. The author did an outstanding job of laying the groundwork for the reader's imagination and connecting the reader's emotions to the same settings. Readers will empathically relate to this book's characters, and at times, the entire narrative. The characters were also designed to act in a cold, emotionless manner, untouched by the events occurring around them, in order to make them look realistic.

I disliked nothing about this book.

I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the reasons listed above. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in politics, political terrorism, or thrillers.
