Review of The Date Farm
This book is the fourth novel in the Lara and Uri series. The Lara and Uri series has covered international terrorist operations since the first novel. Due to their strong political or religious beliefs, these terrorists had made it their job to spread fear throughout numerous countries. The book follows our gallant duo, Lara and Uri, as they strive to stop Iranian extremists from stealing rare treasures and focusing on them.
One fateful day, a group of young guys entered a mall and started shooting without regard for anyone's age or religious affiliation. They drew their rifles, shouted "Allahu Akbar," and shot themselves. Almost 50 people died, and more than 100 others suffered injuries in this incident. Just married and on vacation in Ohio, Uri and Lara were called back to work. The random gunfire did not have specific targets, which made the investigation difficult. What are the names of these people? Why are they so adamant about forcing their religion on other people? What is their primary goal? Read this book by Jack Winnick to discover more.
I appreciate the twist the author gave this particular novel. In the former, the terrorists saw Americans and Jews as their eternal enemies. Yet the story didn't start there, and readers were left wondering where the author was going with it. I also liked how each incident and deed was well-detailed by the author. I enjoyed how most of the events in the book came as a surprise to the reader. The tone and flow of the tale were easy for the readers to follow. I particularly loved how our courageous couple, who served as the main characters, were captured. It serves as a reminder to the readers of their frailty.
Another element of this novel that I particularly liked was how Lara and Uri's relationship progressed. Despite having different origins, they liked one another. They get along well at work as well. They were committed to the project they were working on. The author's use of this narrative to discuss some Middle Eastern history will appeal to history enthusiasts.
There was nothing in this book that I didn't enjoy. The book underwent excellent editing. I didn't discover any errors. To end the atrocities, I strongly hope these terrorists will acknowledge that there will always be many religions. Also, because of my likes mentioned above, I give The Date Farm a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. Anyone who appreciates a good action and romance novel should try this. If you enjoy detective stories, this is for you.
