Review of Final Notice
Gun violence has plagued the world, and not much is being done about it. Final Notice by Van Fleisher starts with a glance into gun violence. 70-year-old Vince was harassed in a parking lot by a youth who considered him easy prey. The event never quite left Vince’s mind, and as he saw in the news with his wife Trudy that an 89-year-old man living in a home for the elderly opened fire at other occupants of the home, leaving six people dead and others injured, Vince’s mind went back to his encounter with the youth who shoved him. He starts wondering if he should take advantage of the NRA discount on guns for senior citizens. Meanwhile, Vijay Patel has created a device that can be used to diagnose and predict health issues, including death. Find out how the story plots connect in this book.
From the beginning of the book, I was captivated. I like what Van Fleisher did with his character. The only explanation I have for him portraying the perfect characteristics of old people is that he has studied the characteristics of old people. Despite it being a work of fiction, the characters were very believable. I also liked the different plots in the story. As I read on, I kept enjoying the suspense and waiting for the stories to connect with each other. I also liked that the dangers of gun ownership were brought up early in the book. I was looking forward to how it would be resolved as I dove deeper into the book.
While I could predict some events in this book, I remained intrigued, and even when my predictions were correct, a wave of relief hit me. I liked that the author addressed the issue of bullying and how far people are willing to go to protect themselves from bullies. Also, technology has been well improved in this book, and while I don’t think every innovation in this book is necessary, seeing the dangers it poses in this book, I think the author reveals some amazing innovations that are needed in our world today.
The story progressed well, the pace was satisfying, it wasn’t slow, and it also didn’t feel rushed. I had a satisfying read. My rating for this book is 5 out of 5 stars. The book was well-written and perfectly edited; I found no errors in it. The book felt like the author was predicting the future of the world. Gun violence, which is already bad, could get worse. People could start killing others because they feel the people are tired of living. The extreme growth of technology is also upon us. I found no reason to deduct a star as there was nothing I did not like about the book.
This book will appeal to those interested in technology. They will be inspired and also be careful with what they do with technology, as we want to use technology to make the world a better place rather than a dangerous one. The book will also appeal to people who are involved in any form of crime fighting; there is a lot to thrill them in this book. People who are interested in learning about gun violence can pick up this book and have an insightful read.
