Review of The Date Farm
The Date Farm is a book written by Jack Winnick. Lara and Uri just got married and were spending their time in Israel, where they reside. Uri planned during this period to also pay a visit to his partner's family in Ohio. The day came, and the excited couple left for Ohio. Lara's family happily welcomed Uri; they were indeed happy that they'd be spending some time with their daughter's husband. However, this didn't happen considering that they got an urgent call in the night with instructions to leave for a mall located in the United States to apprehend terrorists who had just attacked scores of people there. They went to the scene and discovered that a lot of damage had been done. Now, they must try their best to get the miscreants responsible for that act and also put necessary security measures in place to prevent the occurrence of another attack. Get this action-packed book to see how everything unfolded.
I loved how the relationship between Lara and Uri progressed. They started as lovers and then became a married couple in this particular story, and this thrilled me. Their excellent investigative skills also made them stand out amongst their peers; this made them the best people capable of investigating the reason for the attack that occurred in the mall and also arresting the attackers. Furthermore, I admired the writer's style of writing this book. It was a creative one. I commend him for his ability to present a fictional idea of what some countries are currently experiencing or have experienced. Interestingly, I didn't read this story with the mindset that it was a fictional one because of how real the events looked. The first section of the book had compelling content, which made me enthusiastic to see how the other sections will unfold. I was also engrossed by how interesting the plot of this story was. It was filled with action, and this increased my satisfaction with the book.
Although Lara and Uri played excellent roles in this story, they weren't the only characters in this book. Other characters added a lot of suspense and twists to the unfolding events. Hence, I would say that the author did a good job in organizing the characterization of the plot. The characters behind the unhealthy relationship between the United States and Israel were mentioned. You wouldn't want to miss this story, so get this book.
I rate this book five out of five stars. After I finished reading it, I discovered that nothing in it displeased me. I was so fascinated with the plot because it taught me that terrorism can ruin everything a nation has ever worked for and thus should be avoided by all means. It was edited exceptionally well because I didn't come across any errors.
I, therefore, recommend it to people who read investigative books, crime thrillers, and action-packed scenes because they will be thrilled with the authenticity of this story. This book would also suit anyone who is an aspiring investigator and desires to learn more from Lara and Uri's investigative skills.
