Paul is dead, and he left a message for his wife, Martina, on what led to his demise. Murder by Truth by Gary Paul Stephenson is a thriller about Paul's letters to his wife. Conveyed by his trusted lawyer, Mr. Seifert, Martina gets these letters containing the truth of her late husband's secret mission and his expected death. Paul, a New Zealander, was an only child after his mother lost his junior brother after birth. He was spoiled and received the best of everything. Surprisingly, without the consent of his parents, Paul joined the Army. He trained in the Special Air Services and Mossad. His obtained skill sets, abilities, and knowledge made him fit for the job.

Martina learns various things from these letters, from Paul's consistent duo, Jenkin and Arthur, to how the mission led to Paul meeting her, the love of his life. The unfolding secrets will puzzle readers. One would wonder why Paul's killers killed him as soon as mentioned in his first letter. The anonymity of the individuals that assigned him on the mission will also steer questions. What is Martina's reaction after reading Paul's letters? What happens after she finds out the truth?

Murder by Truth is a compelling narrative that comprises 19 chapters and about 240 pages. The story begins in Mr. Seifert's office with old decorations a day after Paul's funeral. The way Gary Paul Stephenson introduced the story from the prologue was engaging. The profound description of the book's characters enthralled me. I liked Paul as a character even though he was dead. He seemed like an intelligent, brave, and tactical person.

As there are likes, there are also dislikes. Without question, I enjoyed reading this book, but Murder by Truth is not exceptionally edited. There were numerous grammatical and punctuation errors. The word 'Mossad' is wrongly replaced with 'MOSAD,' which bears no meaning, on frequent occasions. Also, this book is not correctly formatted. It'd be awesome if the author considers this book for another round of professional editing.

I rate this book, Murder by Truth, four out of five stars. At the beginning, I was saddened by Paul's death, which made Martina mourn. Another thing I noticed was the author's love for cars, which he shared with Paul. Mentioning cars like the blue Holden Commodore, dark blue Land Rover Defender, Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, BMW 3 series station wagons, and a few others. I recommend this book to lovers of thriller books, readers who enjoy books with daring missions, and fans of "Mission Impossible."

I love cars too. I don't think this book is that bad since you still gave it a good rating. From the description, I feel it's an adventure I'd love to follow. Secret missions like those in Mission Impossible, I hope it's worth it.

Wow. The thrill level that's just maddening. How could someone plan ahead of time and tell someone about how he died.

In a case like this, I feel the protagonist, Paul, must have had a plan up his sleeves in order for him to write these letters in case of death. Like most mission stories, the protagonist ends up winning.

The death of a loved one is always tough. I will like to find out how Martina dealt with the truth and what exactly this 'truth' is.

Quite brillant. The characters remain consistent in their role, from what I see. Just wondering why the entire Army wasn't involved in the secret mission. Anyway, your review is well articulated.

Paul seems to have lived an intense and dangerous life but there are still secrets around it after his death, so I expect twists and revelations. I hope the author does proper proofreading to prevent distractions! Thank you for your great review!

The title definitely caught my attention. The idea of Paul leaving letters for his wife to uncover the truth behind his death is intriguing. I'm curious to know how Martha will react to these revelations and what actions she will take.
